Although Emma was warned that she might have inherited her mother's condition and may suffer the same painful fate, she was beyond shocked by how history repeats itself. In order to find a way to prevent the tragedy, Emma needs to dive into her past full of secrets, so she can fix the present and future.

There are both negative and positive opinions about Insomnia, and although the trailer didn't get many of the second type, the show is quickly climbing up the charts. Many fans of the book Insomnia are more than excited to watch the show, especially considering that Vicky McClure plays the main character.

I'd watch anything with Vicky McClure, this woman is a force. I love everything she does.

There were other people who didn't seem so excited, commenting that, thanks to seeing the pilot episode, they no longer suffer from insomnia. There were also comments about how the trailer shows a woman who cannot sleep, but the actual series is more about sleepwalking than anything else.
