It's been nearly 2 years since the release of Elden Ring, and the game has truly shown why it received nearly every Game of the Year reward. The amount of staying power the game has had is unbelievable, with players accumulating hundreds, if not thousands, of hours of playtime and numerous pop-culture references in media. Now that the dust has settled, and we are awaiting news about the upcoming Shadows of the Erdtree DLC, it's time to answer a question that players have been wondering for a while. In this article, we are going to discuss whether or not Elden Ring has finally received cross-platform support.

Is Elden Ring Cross Platform?

As of this moment, Elden Ring still does not have any cross-platform support. You can only play with players on your current platform, as well as the last generation of consoles. This means that PS4 and PS5 players can play together, and the same goes for Xbox players. There is no word on whether cross-platform support will be added in the future for Elden Ring. It does seem unlikely, as the game has been out for nearly 2 years at this point. The game also offers a free generation upgrade on consoles, allowing you to get the enhanced experience offered on the newest hardware.

That covers everything you need to know about cross-platform support for Elden Ring. Hopefully, the feature will be added in the near future, possibly with the upcoming Shadows of the Erdtree DLC that was announced last year. For now, though, you can only play with other players from the same platform.
