Unfortunately, we are reaching the end of the long-awaited TWD spin-off - The Ones Who Live. The show immersed us in the plot, and all of us are on edge about how the series will conclude. No matter the ending, in just six episodes, we got a ton of information about the CRM and Rick and Michonne's struggles during all these years they have been apart.

Although we have been loving the series, viewers can't help but wonder how they could possibly wrap up this whole story in just the last episode. What the Producers Said About a Second Season of The Ones Who Live

To start, The Ones Who Live was initially planned to be a three-part movie release. The producers later decided to change the format to a one-season show that would be lengthier and still effectively portray Rick and Michonne's story. However, after watching most of the show, the whole audience can agree that making another season would be helpful for the smooth conclusion of the plot.

When asked about the possibility of Season 2 by TVLine, Michonne's actress Danai Gurira responded with "Can't answer that," and Andrew Lincoln jokingly said that Rick will die at the end of the show. Their answers seemed like a safe way to avoid giving out any information and did not completely reject the chance of a second season.

In another interview, Scott Gimple, the co-creator of The Ones Who Live, said the following:

“Anything is possible — even if Rick dies in the last episode, anything is possible… We’re focused on this one right now. But this one came together in a really amazing way, where there were all sorts of plans. And then the world changed and we altered those plans.”

Similar to the main actors' responses, this update also seems promising regarding the status of a second season. Not outright rejecting the idea of a sequel definitely gives us hope that we will see more of Michonne and Rick's journey with the CRM.

The Need For Spin-Offs For The Walking Dead Universe

With the end of the main show, The Walking Dead fans still crave more content about their favorite characters. Thankfully, we have various spin-offs that allow us to follow the survivors in their newest journeys. At this point, this is the only way the storyline from TWD can be preserved and further developed.

Given that the CRM is the largest organization we've encountered in The Walking Dead, there is plenty we still don't know. With only one episode remaining, it seems unlikely that all of our questions will be answered. We have to wait until the end of The Ones Who Live to see whether the show will unleash the potential of a second season or not.

While that is our desire, there is no possible way to reunite all characters under one show. Our hope now is to see them all find their way back to each other as their individual adventures slowly come together. This is the only possible way to see TWD's characters cross paths again.
