Gojo Is Dead and There Will Be No Surprising Returns This Time

JJK's Gege Reveals the Future of These Characters and Shuts Down All Fan Theories Gojo Volume Cover 2
Jujutsu Kaisen

Ever since the fight between the two strongest sorcerers ended with Gojo being cut in half in chapter 236, fans have been eagerly awaiting his return, refusing to believe he lost like that. Although on numerous occasions we believed his resurrection might really happen, we got a far more unsatisfying outcome. We did see Gojo's body but with Kenjaku's stitches on his head and Yuta possessing him.

However, even that wasn't enough for Gojo fans, as they continued to theorize that even with Yuta in his body, Satoru's body memories could still help him take control. Others speculated that Shoko is keeping his brain and that he could be revived after that. Many theories emerged as a coping mechanism for those who refused to let Gojo go (to which we can absolutely relate).

However, Gege decided to put an end to the hopes some fans still had by saying that the cover of JJK's volume 26 served as Gojo's "funeral photo." As heartbreaking as it is, we won't be seeing Satoru in the manga anymore, or at least not in his present self, but only in the memories of others. Now we all have to accept the fact that it is Gojover.

Question: What would you comment on the cover of Volume 26?

Answer: You know I really wanted to draw a poster for Satoru in honor of his death, I really liked that idea.

Nobara Is Dead and Fans Should Not Wait for Her Return

JJK's Gege Reveals the Future of These Characters and Shuts Down All Fan Theories Nobara Kugisaki Death
Jujutsu Kaisen

Gojo Satoru isn't the only character fans have hoped would return after seemingly being killed. Ever since the Shibuya incident when Mahito, a special grade cursed spirit, presumably killed Nobara, fans have been certain that this wasn't the end for her. Her death definitely came as a surprise to many, as she was one of the main team members in the show, alongside Megumi and Itadori. One of the biggest fan theories is that she will return with an eye patch covering her lost eye and help everyone in their fight against Sukuna, as her powers would give her friends a significant advantage.

Get ready to be disappointed once again because, sadly, Nobara is never coming back. In the interview, Gege explained that he had decided both Kugisaki and Nanami would die during the Shibuya incident even before he started writing it. He wanted to allow her to shine before he sent her off. This marked the end of JJK as we know it and allowed him to start writing a 'dark story

Why Your Favorite Characters Are Dying in JJK

JJK's Gege Reveals the Future of These Characters and Shuts Down All Fan Theories Mei Mei
Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen's manga is very well-known for killing off its characters. Fans no longer know who could be next, and no one is ever safe. This is what makes Gege's answer to the following question very interesting.

Question: Why did Mei Mei escape Shibuya and something else (death) didn't happen to her?

Answer: I don’t think a character should die if readers don’t feel any emotion for them like sadness.

It is certain that the author is determined to kill off only characters we care about, which reflects his apathy toward our feelings. Contrary to our earlier assumptions, we now know that none of the characters we hope for are safe.

Toji Is Modeled After Jason Statham

JJK's Gege Reveals the Future of These Characters and Shuts Down All Fan Theories Toji Jason Statham Body
@Go_Jover

Taking a break from all the deaths that we feel like we are re-experiencing once again after this interview, let's look at a much funnier truth shared by Gege. When asked about how the character Toji Fushiguro was created, you might think that Gege would elaborate on his thought process behind Toji's past and character.

However, Gege instead revealed that his inspiration for Toji, or more specifically his build, was Jason Statham. When placed side by side, you can see the obvious resemblance between the two. However, that reveal definitely caught us off guard in the best way possible.
