Joining Ryujin Industries offers various benefits, including access to exclusive quests and rewards. Here's a detailed guide on how to join Ryujin Industries in Starfield:

Considerations Before Joining:

  • Joining Ryujin Industries doesn't restrict you from pursuing other aspects of the game's storyline. You can explore this option without disrupting your main questline.
  • Ryujin Industries offers a unique questline focused on corporate life, which includes unexpected twists and turns. While it differs thematically from the United Colonies questline, it shares similarities in how it presents challenges and opportunities for your character to evolve.

How to Start the Ryujin Industries Quest in Starfield:

  1. Discovering Ryujin Industries: You'll likely first hear about Ryujin Industries while exploring New Atlantis, the capital of the United Colonies. An NPC conversation in New Atlantis may praise Ryujin Industries and highlight the advantages of working in the private sector. This encounter automatically unlocks the quest "Back to the Grind" and initiates the Ryujin Industries questline.

  2. Application Process: To begin your journey with Ryujin Industries, you need to apply for a job within the company. Locate the Ryujin Industries kiosk in New Atlantis, where you can submit your job application.

  3. Tracking the Quest: Access your quest log (open the main menu and click on the quest log button beneath your character avatar) and start tracking the "Back to the Grind" quest.

  4. Travel to Neon, Volii System: To proceed with the quest, you must travel to Neon, which is part of the Volii system. However, you can't make a direct jump to the Volii system initially. Begin by traveling to the Olympus system, connected to the Alpha Centauri system (New Atlantis' location). Registering the route to Volii is necessary before reaching Neon.

  5. Unlocking Key Locations: Your journey to the Volii system unlocks the Nesoi and Almagest Space Station locations in Starfield. Upon arriving, you can choose to explore or proceed directly to Volii.

  6. Grav Drive Activation: You'll need to activate your ship's grav drive to reach the Volii system. Ensure your ship's weapon systems have enough points allocated to the grav drive. You'll undergo a scan upon entering the Volii system, so be cautious if you're carrying contraband.

  7. Arrival in Neon: Upon reaching the Volii system, you'll land on Neon. From the spaceport, you'll spot Ryujin Industries' Tower on the far right of the city.

Navigating Neon and Completing the "Back to the Grind" Quest:

  1. Tracking the Quest: Make sure to track the "Back to the Grind" quest as it will guide you through Neon's bustling streets.

  2. Observing an Arrest: Inside the spaceport, you'll witness the arrest of an NPC named Neshar Omani for smuggling illegal items. Pay attention to this interaction, as it unlocks a separate side quest in Starfield unrelated to Ryujin Industries.

  3. Meeting Lane Garza: Proceed to take the elevator down and, upon reaching street level, head left. Your destination is at the far end of the road. Along the way, you'll encounter an NPC called Lane Garza, the receptionist.

  4. Exploring Neon: Lane Garza offers to guide you to Imogene's office while providing insights into Ryujin's operations.

  5. Meeting Imogene Salzo: Imogene Salzo conducts your job interview at Ryujin Industries. You'll need to sit in the chair and answer her questions. Interestingly, your responses during the interview don't significantly impact the outcome, even if you express minimal interest in the company.

  6. Promotion to Junior Operative: After the interview, you're officially hired by Ryujin Industries and assigned your first task: picking up coffee at TerraBrew Coffee in Neon. Exit Ryujin Tower, return to ground level, and follow the street to TerraBrew Coffee.

  7. Encounter with Tomo: While at TerraBrew Coffee, you'll encounter Tomo, who previously held your job at Ryujin. Tensions escalate, and you can attempt to persuade him or react accordingly.

  8. Return to Imogene: Regardless of the outcome with Tomo, retrieve the coffee order and return to Imogene. You can choose to be honest or dishonest about the coffee shop incident.

  9. Promotion to Junior Operative: Imogene promotes you to Junior Operative within Ryujin Industries. Your role involves influencing situations to benefit the company's interests. You'll be tasked with meeting four new NPCs and interacting with them before reporting back to Imogene.

  10. Advancing the Questline: Completing the "Back to the Grind" quest unlocks the next mission in the Ryujin Industries questline, which involves sabotaging data at CeltCorp, a competitor.

At this point, you're officially part of Ryujin Industries in Starfield and can progress through their questline, involving corporate intrigue, challenges, and opportunities.
