Build, Publish, and Profit From Your Own Lego Game in LEGO Fortnite

Starting today, creators can use Lego templates, props, consumables, and items within Fortnite Creative and the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) to craft their very own Lego Islands.

The remarkable aspect of this announcement is that the published Lego Islands will be eligible for payouts through Fortnite's creative economy, provided the creators are signed up for the Fortnite Island Creator Program.

A Family-Friendly Experience for LEGO Fortnite

To maintain a safe and appropriate environment, Epic Games and Lego have implemented strict guidelines for published Lego Islands. All published islands must adhere to an ESRB rating of E10+ in the United States and a PEGI rating of 7 in most of Europe. Additionally, Lego Islands will utilize Epic Games' parental controls and safety features, ensuring a family-friendly gaming experience.

New Lego Games in LEGO Fortnite

Alongside the announcement of user-generated Lego Islands, Epic Games also unveiled three new official Lego games coming to Fortnite:

• Lego Prop Hunt: A take on the popular "Prop Hunt" mechanics, set in a wacky shopping mall.
• Lego Battle Arena: Compete against other trainees and hone your skills at the Lego Ninjago Dojo with Lloyd and the Masters of Spinjitzu.
• Lego Cat Island Adventure: A delightful game where players nurture their relationship with a friendly cat on an island.

New Era of Creativity for LEGO Fortnite

According to Epic Games executive vice president Saxs Persson, this development represents a long-held vision for Fortnite where creators, IP holders, and players can coexist harmoniously within a legitimate ecosystem.

This is what he stated:

“Obviously, ‘Lego Fortnite’ was a big step in our collaboration with Lego — but it was never the final step. There were two more."

He then continued,

“One was Lego starting their own game development efforts and they’ve started releasing, and are now releasing three more islands that are just ridiculously adorable, that they’ve been spearheading.

And then we’re releasing, essentially, a streamlined program for every creator to make official Lego games. So commercial, legitimate Lego games, that they can put into the ecosystem.

With a one-click agreement with the predetermined engagement payout share of 15%, you get access to make your own Lego game.”
