Fishing is undoubtedly the highlight of the Gone Fishin’ update. Players can now craft four tiers of fishing rods using different materials at crafting stations. They can then use these rods to catch a variety of colorful Lego fish in bodies of water across the map.

Food Processor and Bait Bucket

All those fish you catch in the new minigame can be put to good use, too. The v28.30 update brings the new Food Processor station that lets players craft fish filets out of their catches. These filets can then be used to cook up dishes like Smoked Fry Fish and Black and Blue Shieldfish Sushi at grills.

While fishing rods alone are enough to catch fish, players can increase their chances with bait. The update introduces bait buckets that can be crafted in four tiers using fish filets, juice, and juicers. Throwing bait from these buckets creates fishing spots in water, attracting hungry fish.

Aside from fishing, Lego Fortnite also gets two new resources and crafting ingredients in v28.30: sand and glass. Players can now use shovels to dig up sand from sandy areas, which can then be processed into glass using crafting benches.

That glass can be used to create several handy new exploration tools as well. The Spyglass magnifies distant scenery when equipped. The Compass and Advanced Compass add navigation aids to the screen. They display which direction the player is facing or even set custom map markers.

New Villagers

Along with the fishing expert Turk, the updated Villager pool includes Outcast and Bob as potential residents. Players may come across them and convince them to join their settlement.

New Charms and Outfit Styles

Characters in Lego Fortnite can also employ new charms for certain benefits. The Reflection Charm deals damage back at attackers, while the Wavebreak Charm boosts swimming speed. These are crafted using fish.

Additionally, several existing Fortnite outfits like Lazarbeam, Ninja, and more now have unlockable Lego “styles”. Owners can mix and match between styles, including:

  • Airie
  • Flakes Power
  • Iron Man Zero
  • Lazarbeam
  • Loserfruit
  • Maxxed Out Max
  • Ninja
