Lies of P features six cryptic vessels, each with its own unique location and solution. Unraveling all cryptic vessels and claiming their rewards will unlock the Veteran Explorer trophy & achievement. All Cryptic Vessels are either found in chests or obtained as rewards for performing certain actions. After discovering a Cryptic Vessel, you have the option to deliver it to Venigni for decryption. Nearly all of these vessels hold a clue that guides you towards various rewards, including Legion Arm upgrade components and costumes.
This guide provides a detailed walkthrough on how to locate and solve each cryptic vessel:
1. Crafted Cryptic Vessel: St. Frangelico Cathedral Chapel
Where to Find: From the Stargazer, proceed through the area until you reach a point where you can knock a brazier off a ledge. Retrace your steps to access an underground staircase that was previously inaccessible due to the Decay. Open the door to find the first Cryptic Vessel.
How to Solve: The Decryption leads to an assignment: you need to strike the puppet that hangs from the Alchemist Bridge on Elysion Boulevard. To do so, fast travel to Krat City Hall Stargazer and walk back. Throw a Sawtoothed Wheel at the puppet to drop the second clue. The second clue is Letter with the Refuge’s Address with a photo of the location you need to find. Head back to the Krat City Hall Stargazer and teleport to Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard Stargazer. Now leave the house and cross the beam. The correct door is on your immediate right before the puppets. Open the door and rip the safe open to obtain Quartz and Owl Doctor’s Hunting Apparel Outfit.
2. Jeweled Cryptic Vessel: Estella Opera House Entrance
Where to Find: As you explore Estella Opera House, you’ll eventually reach a dark room with two ladders, one going down and a second smaller one going up. Climb the smaller ladder up to find a chest containing Jeweled Cryptic Vessel.
How to Solve: Head over to Cerasani Alley Stargazer and head down the stairs. When you reach the cliff, go to the furthermost point where you can see a small barrel. Standing next to the barrel, use the Check Ground gesture. You will obtain a Legion Caliber and The Atoned’s Hunting Apparel Outfit.
3. Old Cryptic Vessel: Barren Swamp Bridge
Where to Find: Right before the Stargazer, talk to Rookie Explorer Hugo to obtain this item.
How to Solve: Head to Path of Pilgrim and enter the house near the Stargazer. Ride the elevator down and at the bottom, go right and up the hill by the shack where you can find a Slum Resident.
4. Rusty Cryptic Vessel: Collapsed Krat
Where to Find: The Rusty Cryptic Vessel is located in Collapsed Krat. From the Stargazer, continue through the area until you can climb up a ladder. After climbing up, there will be a fork with an Harlequin enemy on your left. Instead of turning left, continue straight on, then turn left where an enemy is guarding a chest containing this item.
How to Solve: To address this challenge, return to the Barren Swamp Bridge Stargazer, where you initially encountered Rookie Explorer Hugo. You'll find that the gate, which was previously closed, is now accessible. This newfound passage grants you access to Hermit's Cave. Inside, the solution to the Cryptic Vessel is as simple as opening the safe at the cave's end.
5. Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel: Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field
Where to Find: This vessel can only be obtained by defeating Alidoro after engaging in combat with Black Rabbit Brotherhood at Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field. Ensure that you defeat him when prompted, or else you will miss out on looting this cryptic vessel.
How to Solve: Hand over Alidoro’s Cryptic Vessel to Venigni for decoding. Read through the letter carefully, then converse with Eugénie and reveal what happened to her brother Alidoro. Rest at a Stargazer and engage in conversation with her again in order to unlock “The Story of a Stranger Girl” achievement for solving this puzzle.
6. Mechanical Cryptic Vessel: Arche Abbey Broken Rift
Where to Find: The Mechanical Cryptic Vessel is located inside a treasure chest inside of Arche Abbey. Teleport yourself using Arche Abbey Broken Rift Stargazer, pass through an archway and travel straight until you hit a wall. Take a right down some stairs, then head straight again until you hit another wall.
