Hello Games' latest offering, Light No Fire, was announced at the 2023 Game Awards to a gush of reactions from hype to scepticism. It's understandable as to why. Hello Games have a track record of controversial launches after their first game, No Man's Sky. The pressure is on to get it right with Light No Fire. So, when can we expect to play Light No Fire ourselves?
NOTE: Some of the information provided in this article is based on speculation and is not to be interpreted as official info from the developers.
Light No Fire PC Release Date Speculation

The only confirmed platform to play Light No Fire so far is PC, with the game's store page already active on Steam. That said, there is no concrete release date just yet for Light No Fire. However, that doesn't mean we can't predict based on what we know so far.
First, it took 3 years for Hello Games to release No Man's Sky after its initial reveal, and the indie studio has already expressed wishes to shrink its release horizon for Light No Fire. This means we are almost definitely getting LNF before 2026. Note that this is purely a speculative guess and it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Second, Hello Games revealed at the Game Awards that they had been secretly working on Light No Fire for the past 5 years. This is huge and suggests that LNF may be far deeper into its development cycle than No Man's Sky was when it was first unveiled.

Finally, the Light No Fire gameplay we saw at the Game Awards was confirmed to be real in-game multiplayer footage. This is crucial, as often game studios will feature gameplay trailers that are, in fact, composed of pre-rendered environments and assets for the sake of creating more cinematic trailers. Considering how good the Light No Fire trailer looked at the Game Awards is therefore extremely reassuring, and adds to our suspicion that the game may be further along in development than many people think.
Best Possible Release Date for Light No Fire

Taking everything into account, our best-case-scenario prediction would be a winter 2024 release date for Light No Fire. Given the time Hello Games have already committed to the project as well as how good the gameplay trailer looked, a late 2024 release date seems entirely possible.
Realistic Release Date for Light No Fire
Hello Games' first offering, No Man's Sky, released in 2018 to an avalanche of disgruntled reviews. The indie studio is sure to fight hard to guarantee that this is not the case with Light No Fire. This added caution plus the realities of game development for indie teams make setbacks and delays likely. Our backup predicted release date would therefore be summer 2025, with a possibility of delays until winter 2025. Note that this is purely a speculative guess and it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Light No Fire Console Release Date?
There is, as yet, no confirmed release date for Light No Fire on console, nor has there been any confirmation as to whether or not LNF will be playable on Xbox or PlayStation. However, with No Man's Sky having released for both PS4 and Xbox One, it seems unlikely that Light No Fire will remain restricted to PC. Expect Light No Fire to release for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X alongside PC when the time comes! Note that this is purely a speculative guess and it should be taken with a grain of salt.
