LoL 14.14 Support Champions Tier List: Best Ranked Picks

Queen of mid and queen of Support. Lux is in an absolutely OP state in patch 14.14. She has everything you need - damage, shield, short cooldowns, lots of utility. Lux can carry you out of low elo easily, as long as you know how to play her well.

PROS:

• Easy to play
• Short cooldowns late and mid-game

CONS:

• Squishy
• Skillshot-reliant

Zyra and her plants have been a menace for a while now. She's very difficult to play against and can easily win the lane for the ADC you've partnered up with.

PROS:

• Versatile
• Easy to pick up

CONS:

• Lots of kills and farm stealing
• No mobility

Leona is one of the stars of Swarm but she's also shining through on the Summoner's Rift.

PROS:

• Great roaming
• Lots of CC

CONS:

• Teem reliant
• Not versatile at all - all you do is engage 

Brand got yet another nerf to his E in LoL patch 14.14 but there's no stopping this fiery guy. He's killing it as Support, Mid, and ADC. 

PROS:

• Amazing AoE damage
• Easy to pick up and master

CONS:

• Bad utility
• Easily out-sustained 

Nami is a classic League of Legends support who can deliver both damage and healing, making the ADC way more sustainable. 

Xerath is not only one of the most annoying supports you can play against but also an insane midlaner. It seems like his abilities never stop coming your way!

Taric is serving damage and tankiness, having one of the highest win rates among supports. The best thing is his low pick and ban rate, ensuring you can play him in almost every Ranked game.

This charming guy can offer you so many slows and stuns, which will help peel your team in sticky situations.

League of Legends Patch 14.14 introduced A LOT of changes to Milio and they did him a huge favor. His entire kit (excluding his Ult) has been adjusted and it's feeling much better.

Sona has everything your support might need - damage boost, movement speed, heal and stun. She's such a versatile and well-made champion. Don't sleep on her!

Janna is underrated because she's squishy but she can be extremely powerful if used right.

• Squishy
• Low range

Seraphine is in a very good state in the current LoL meta, especially when it comes to bot lane. Her kit is versatile and it will help your ADC a lot. As a matter of fact, she can easily carry the lane.

• Heal and shield
• Low pick and ban rate

CONS:

• Squishy

Another patch goes by and, no, we won't shut up about how fun and easy it is to play Neeko. She's a really rewarding champion if you give her the time. Her passive will give you the opportunity to pull off some very clever shenanigans. 

PROS:

• Great roaming and CC
• Amazing wave clear 
• Easy to play

CONS:

• Falls behind easily and can't get good again

Best shield in the game and insane damage - what more can you ask for? Morgana is one of THE supports in League of Legends, although she's not super OP currently.

Swain is doing way better after the most recent League of Legends update and he's got a pretty decent win rate, combined with low pick and ban rates.

PROS:

• Versatile
• Lots of AoE damage
• Great in team fights

CONS:

• Mana-dependent and mana-hungry
• Immobile

The global Ult heal really elevates Soraka to another level when it comes to support. Her damage is also very decent although it's quite easy to avoid her Q.

Lulu can fit well into almost any team composition and she will join in with lots of utility, CC, and peel.

PROS:

• Great engage and disengage
• Strong early game

CONS:

• Squishy
• Relies on the team, useless 1v1

Blitz is an OP support, feared by many. However, this is the reason why he has the highest ban rate among supports (25.1%), making your chances of picking him in Ranked slimmer. 

Alistar is an easy tank, completely able to carry a bad ADC. He's a great choice in low elo, where you'll have to be able to peel for a sucky lane partner. 

Zilean has been doing surprisingly well for a few patches now and we love seeing more unpopular champions shining through.

• Great slow

CONS:

• Squishy

Teemo has a high damage impact and he's very fun to play. Yeah, he's not as OP as he used to be back in the day but he's performing decently.

• Easy to pick up and master
• Lots of damage

CONS:

• Squishy
• Bad in team fights

With insane escape, engage, disengage, heal, and damage, Pyke is an absolute monster to encounter. He's not as strong as he used to be but if you main him you're definitely still carrying games with him. 

As always, Renata is in a weird state - not being strong or weak. We can't help to wonder if Riot will ever do something to bring some more attention to her (aside from the cool skins).

• Great in team fights
• Good poke

CONS:

• Short range
• Squishy
• Slow

It seems like Camille Support is still a thing although not as much of a strong choice as it used to be.

Although Xayah is shining in Swarm, we can't say the same about her partner. There's a lot more to ask for from Rakan.

• Amazing engage and disengage
• Roaming

CONS:

• No damage

Bard is simply doing 'okay'. One of the best things about him is his utility and mixed damage but he's suffering from his huge hit box.

High pick rate, high ban rate - focusing on Naut currently isn't very useful although he's doing okay-ish on the Summoner's Rift.

Although Malphite is great in theory, he's lacking a lot in this current meta, compared to the rest of the supports.

Hwei has been in a weird state for a while and Riot seems to be keeping him quite weak. He's still a very versatile champion but you shouldn't pick him up unless you main him.

• Hard to master

Once the king of support, today Thresh is left in the bottom tiers. Thresh mains should wait this one out.

We get why you want to play her - she's doing insane damage and she's in the S-tier when it comes to ADCs. However, supporting isn't about that. Miss Fortune is an amazing ADC right now but she definitely doesn't have anything to offer as a support.

The 'Support ADC' meta is out, as we already established with MF. Ashe can't offer much supporting, aside from her E and R. Focus on her as an ADC instead.

The newest League of Legends champion, Aurora, was marketed as a possible support pick. However, stats show she's a horrible pick for this role, having the lowest current win rate.
