After two brutal games with MDK taking the lead and making a mockery of VKE, it seems that the LEC third seed has a lot of gas in the tank. After a shocking game 1, PNG was able to slowly and meticulously win in a very dominant fashion, as the Play-Ins favorites were unable to utilize their comp due to the heavy champion nerfs in Patch 14.18. Game 2, however, was an absolute stomp on the side of PSG as the PCS first seed was unstoppable, thus tying the series 1-1.
The final game of the series was rather equal, however, PNG did not lose their cool and continued to secure dragon souls. An incredible team fight around the 26-minute mark showed a phenomenal performance by Maple's Akali. After a nail-biting fight around drake, PSG was able to secure their victory and win the series 2-1.
And that covers all of the games from the first day of the League of Legends 2024 World Championship.
