The biggest League of Legends tournament is afoot with 8 teams giving their all to advance to the Swiss stage and duke it out with the best of the best. This year, the World Championship will feature even more exciting matches as the changes to the tournament will result in better brackets, as opposed to last year's hiccups.

A hectic back-and-forth series as both MDK and PSG had the upper hand, either through great macro or phenomenal team fights, however, the LEC third seed looked very shaky by game 3. However, MDK was able to secure their win and proceed to the Swiss stage where they will face the best of the best. PSG will have another chance of advancing to the next stage, should they be victorious in their next matches.

Following two very convincing games, GAM was able to dominate R7 by showing not only great macro, but also amazing individual player performances, thus allowing them to proceed to the Swiss stage as R7 still has another chance to continue in the tournament.
