League of Legends will be getting Vanguard- Riot Games' anti-cheat software they have been using for Valorant ever since its launch in 2020. It seems that Rioters are confident in Vanguard's ability to detect cheaters in the game, as many players have been reporting countless matches with scripters or even bots.
We will be taking a look at what Vanguard is and how it will be implemented within League of Legends. This could be a huge step in terms of providing a more fair and balanced environment by ensuring that competitive integrity is not tarnished by bad actors in League of Legends.

What Does Implementing Vanguard Mean for League of Legends?
Vanguard is an Anti-Cheat software that runs at a kernel level. This will ensure that cheaters and bots will find great difficulty in bypassing the security software, thus allowing Riot Games to ban hardware devices and prevent any further instances of cheating from the same device.
The devs also shared that this system will terminate games once a cheater has been detected, thus refunding the loss of LP for everyone except the cheater. Rioters also addressed many players who might have security concerns regarding personal data, stating the following:
Vanguard does not collect or process any personal information differently from our current Anti-Cheat software. We don't or want to know anything more about you or your machine other than what is necessary to maintain integrity when playing our games.
You will be required to install Vanguard to play League of Legends after a couple of weeks but if you have previously played Valorant and have Vanguard installed, then you will not be prompted to install it again.

There are also other concerns regarding the level of intrusiveness this Anti-Cheat software employs.
Overall, it seems that although Riot Games has good intentions of making the game fairer by ensuring competitive integrity, many players are questioning whether this is the right call given the impact Vanguard Anti-Cheat software has on devices and the mention of a security breach might make some players hesitant to trust and install their software.
