Why is Ranked Down? / Split Transition

As the 2024 season kicks off, the transition between splits in League of Legends follows a standard procedure, ensuring a smooth experience for players. Here's what you can anticipate:

  • Ranked Queues Downtime: At the start of Split 1 in League of Legends, ranked queues will be temporarily disabled. This downtime typically lasts for a few hours as the transition process takes place.

  • Temporary Unavailability: Players should be aware that they won't be able to access ranked queues during this brief period. This is a routine part of the transition between splits.

  • Update 14.01: Following the transition and downtime, League of Legends will undergo an update to version 14.01. This first update for 2024 brings new features, balance changes, and improvements.

  • Queue Resumption: After the completion of the update and maintenance, ranked queues will be re-enabled. Players can then jump back into the action, participating in ranked matches with the latest changes and improvements introduced in the new split.
