We will be taking a look at the new map that will allegedly hit PBE, and eventually, the live servers when Season 2024 rolls out for everyone to try. With that being said, we will be analyzing the new terrain changes to figure out how the meta will shift.

Since the image quality is not so great, we can still easily identify what the changes entail for every lane and the jungle as well. Let's get started!

First of all, the first impression we get is that Rioters are trying to make the map more symmetrical, specifically in the top and bot lanes. Most probably, the devs are trying to mitigate the advantages that come from being either blue or red side.

This is a welcome change, as many players have complained that the blue side team often has a better chance at winning games, emphasizing that the easy access to Baron Nashor is what determines the outcomes of most games.

We can also see that the top lane has wider access to the river, which will result in even more skirmishes around the top side objectives, as Riot Games will be adding a pre-Herald objective to make top lane not feel so much like an island.

Moving down, we see that the terrain has drastically changed around the Baron pit itself, with two funnels and a small entry being the only way to access the pit, this should allow for more opportunities for both teams to contest the objective in an attempt to equalize the game state.

We can also see that the mid lane has wider access to both sides of the river as well. This will also allow players to more easily contest crucial objectives, or roam more effectively so gaining priority will be very important.

Moving further down, the walls around the dragon have been widened, so it looks like most players will be fighting around the small chokepoint in order to access the objective.

Summary

All in all, these alleged upcoming changes will drastically change the way we play the game, especially junglers who will now have to juggle even more objectives to contest, but the new avenues of ganking the lanes will also give them more flexibilities and opportunities to get crucial kills.

It is also important to point out that the terrain will most likely be changed again depending on the type of drake that spawns, so the game will feel more fresh and exciting to play. Riot Games has been working for over 11 months, so we can only imagine to what extent this potential update will influence the competitive and pro scenes.
