S-Tier Mid Champions:

Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol has been dominating the mid lane for a while now. In the most recent League of Legends patch, he's still an amazing solo carry choice. Aurelion Sol has great damage, team fight impact and AoE crowd control. He's surely a force to be reckoned with.

Ahri

Ahri

Ahri has been performing extremely well since LoL Patch 14.4 due to a buff:

  • 45% AP ⇒ 50% AP.
  • Health Growth: 96 ⇒ 104.
  • Ability Haste: 20 ⇒ 25.

She's still dominating the mid lane with great wave clear and burst damage. She's a classic midlaner with amazing mobility. She's still an amazing choice in patch 14.8.

There aren't t many changes in the S-Tier meta since the last League of Legends patch. Brand is the midlaner with the highest win rate, followed closely by Kayle, who's a new addition to the mid tier list.

Other S-Tier Champions:

  • Lux
  • Malzahar
  • Veigar
  • Kayle
  • Fizz
  • Kassadin
  • Brand
  • Annie
  • Diana
  • Akshan
  • Vex
  • Anivia

A-Tier Mid Champions:

Akali

Akali

Akali's early laning strength is way better in patch 14.8 due to the buff she received:

  • Base Health: 570 ⇒ 600

This makes her a great choice in Ranked, especially if you're good with the champ. The buff isn't anything crazy but it's enough to put her in a good position on the tier list.

Galio

Galio

Galio wasn't performing well in the last patch few patches, and he keeps getting buffed. However, he's not making it to the S-Tier in 14.8 either.

  • Base Movement Speed: 335 ⇒ 340
  • Winds of War (Q) Cooldown: 12/10.75/9.5/8.25/7 seconds ⇒  11/10/9/8/7 seconds

With this overall increased damage, Galio is back in the mid lane. He's not in top shape but he's great in the right hands.

The A-tier hasn't changed that much either. LoL players can choose from a few decent and reliable champions such as Sylas. Hwei is a new addition to this tier due to the buff to his passive.

Other A-Tier Champions:

  • Naafiri
  • Sylas
  • Hwei
  • Cassiopeia
  • Katarina
  • Pantheon
  • Taliyah
  • Viktor
  • Twisted Fate
  • Heimerdinger
  • Ekko
  • Neeko
  • Tristana
  • Gragas

B-Tier Mid Champions:

Ryze

Ryze

In patch 14.8 Ryze got a few buffs that boosted his overall performance on the Summoner's Rift:

  • Rune Prison (W) Cooldown: 13/12/11/10/9 seconds 11/10.5/10/9.5/9 seconds
  • Rune Prison (W) Slow: 35% ⇒ 50%

The buff isn't huge but it's enough to make him playable in the mid lane once again.

LeBlanc

LeBlanc

In previous tier lists, we predicted an upcoming LeBlanc buff and we were right:

  • Sigil of Malice (Q) Damage: 65/90/115/140/165 (+45% AP) ⇒ 70/95/120/145/170 (+45% AP)
  • Distortion (W) Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 seconds  15/14/13/12/11/10 seconds

Similar to Ryze, this buff doesn't do much for Leblanc but it's enough to make her a somewhat decent and playable choice in League of Legends.

Other B-Tier Champions:

Yasuo and Yone are still in the B-tier, but their pick rate is still decent. The recent buffs didn't do much for Karma and she's still here as well.

  • Yasuo
  • Yone
  • Zoe
  • Lissandra
  • Talon
  • Syndra
  • Vladimir
  • Karma
  • Lucian
  • Ziggs
  • Irelia
  • Qiyana

C-Tier Champions:

Ezreal

Ezreal

Currently, Ezreal is at a 44% win rate, 0.6% pick rate, and a 4.8% ban rate. He's just not good as a mid lane choice and if you main him you might want to opt for ADC instead.

We already predicted the LeBlanc buff. Ryze and Hwei are also moving up the ladder so the C-Tier has changed a little since patch 14.7:

  • Azir
  • Zed
  • Corki
  • Lucian
  • Orianna
  • Smolder
