LoL Patch 13.23 Best Top Lane Champions

K'Sante

K'Sante - B Tier

Riot has been merciless with the nerf hammer for this champion. The changes to his shield and damage in the recent 13.23 Patch Notes have heavily lowered this champion's significance.

As a result, he has moved down our Tier List as he simply requires too much mastery in order to perfectly utilize his kit, making him not as rewarding as previously.

Naafiri

Naafiri - B Tier

She has insane item scaling, which is why Riot has nerfed her passive and (E) damage to make her less of a threat, especially with Nafiri having a relatively easy laning phase.

We can definitely recommend her, despite her also falling to B Tier, as she can be a great counter-pick.

Riven

Riven - A Tier

Despite the buff Rioters gave Riven in Patch 13.23, she is unlikely to become an absolute monster in the top lane, but she still packs a punch, especially if you are able to punish any mistakes your opponent makes.

Her combo can instantly melt squishier champions, but her kit requires really good mechanical skills in order to best utilize her auto-attacks for maximum damage.

Trundle

Trundle - A Tier

League's beloved troll also got some love this patch, as the lower mana cost (Q) and increase in Attack Damage growth will make this champion easy to pick up with a great learning curve and not as punishing playstyle.

LoL Patch 13.23 Best Jungle Champions

Briar

Briar - S Tier

One of the best AD junglers as despite the wave of nerfs hitting this champion every patch, Riot is still unable to subdue her insane damage.

Jarvan IV

Jarvan IV - S Tier

Another jungler hit with nerfs, however, the damage reduction to his (Q) won't stop this champion from being very easy to pick up and master.

What makes J4 great is that he greatly compliments most team compositions and his kit allows for reliable ganks, especially once he has access to his ultimate.

LoL Patch 13.23 Best Mid Lane Champions

Azir

Azir - A Tier

The changes to his soldiers in Patch 13.23 brought forth more ways to utilize building Nashor's Tooth in order to compensate for the slight damage reduction.

Since Orianna and Syndra are currently meta, the changes to Azir should not make him less viable to begin with.

Naafiri

Naafiri - S Tier

Following the same logic behind her top lane placement, the nerfs in this match have toned her impact a tad, but overall she remains a very strong AD caster.

Ziggs

Ziggs - S Tier

Ziggs has been dominating the game too much, so Riot has drastically decreased his (Q) and (W) damage, but compensated by increasing his Base Attack Damage so he can last hit better.

With these changes, we believe Ziggs belongs at the bottom of S Tier as he still has great wave clear and is fairly easy to pick up.

Vel'Koz

Vel'Koz - C Tier

Despite many players asking Riot to buff him, the changes in 13.23 are not enough to make this champion viable again in the mid lane.

LoL Patch 13.23 Best Bot Lane Champions

Draven

Draven - A Tier

No significant changes in our Tier List this time around. Draven received a good quality-of-life change to his (R), but other than that, nothing notable to address further.

Ziggs

Ziggs - Broken Tier

Despite the heavy nerfs, Ziggs still stands as one of the best bot lane mages as his wave clear is unmatched by other ADCs, allowing him to quietly scale into the late game and knock down turrets.

LoL Patch 13.23 Best Support Champions

Janna

Janna - Broken Tier

The recent revert Riot did for Janna seemed a bit weak so she received some additional buffs this patch, making her much more proactive and fun to play.

She is definitely worth picking up for some easy wins in Ranked.

Summary

Overall, the top lane saw the most shifts this Patch with K'Sante finally becoming not as oppressive as before. While Riot is still trying to figure out how to balance Ziggs, he will remain a solid pick to either play or ban, and Naafiri might start getting even more popular despite her nerfs.

With Season 13 coming to an end soon, and Season 14 unveiling massive changes to the map, Herald, Baron, and Dragons, we can only imagine how much the meta will shift for Season 2024.
