In the upcoming 13.24B League of Legends patch, significant changes are on the horizon for the Arena Mode. These adjustments will touch upon strategy, balance, mechanics, and champion buffs. Notable champions receiving buffs in the Arena Mode include Zilean, Karthus, and Neeko. On the Summoner's Rift, League of Legends introduces buffs for Corki, Warwick, Naafiri and Hwei, while also implementing nerfs for Orianna, Sylas, Syndra, and Yone. Let's delve into the details of these changes and how they will impact the gameplay experience in both modes.
Champion Buffs
Corki
Champs have been on the weak side for a while, throwing them a bone.
Corki, perceived as weak for a while, is set to receive improvements in the upcoming League of Legends patch (13.24B), probably making his pick rate better.
Warwick
Warwick has been very low in the Jungle meta for awhile. He will be getting an exciting new buff, possibly turning him back into one of the most beloved junglers.

Naafiri
We overnerfed Naafiri recently, so looking to restore some of that power.
Seems like this patch will be dog-themed! Aside from WW and Corki, Naafiri will also be facing a buff.
Hwei
His learning curve has been improving, but we still think he's overall a bit weak.
We've noticed that WE and EW still require a bit more of a learning curve for players to get used to and WE in particular is essential to playing him well in not being overly mana constrained and for unleashing full burst combos. We expect players to get better at this over time
Hwei just went through a quick hotfix buff, due to his weak state in LoL. Hwei's late game performance is good, but his early game is extremely weak - an issue which will be targeted.
Champion Nerfs
Oriana
These champs have all been a bit strong to varying degrees in Pro Play, but have also been a bit strong in (especially) Elite solo queue.
We were recently seeing Orianna more often on the Summoner's Rift. However, this might change due to her upcoming nerf.
Syndra
The remodeling and new splash art for Syndra have garnered significant attention for this classic midlaner in League of Legends. Despite this, it appears that developers are gearing up to implement some nerfs for her.

Yone
In recent years, much like his brother Yasuo, Yone has become a champion almost omnipresent in League of Legends games, appearing on either the ally or enemy team regularly. This prevalence is attributed to his potent damage and carry capabilities. However, Yone is now slated for a nerf, and it remains to be seen how this will impact his overall performance on the Summoner's Rift.
Sylas
Sylas has proven to be a formidable force in League of Legends, causing challenges in both Low and High Elo. The Riot developers are assuring players that he won't retain the same level of power in the upcoming patch.
Arena Balance
Buffs
In the Arena Mode, champions overall appear to be balanced, except for mages, which are currently weaker than other classes. To address this imbalance, Riot will be implementing buffs to certain mages and mage items in the Arena Mode:
- Zilean
- Karthus
- Neeko
- Liandrys Sorcere's Shoes
- Dark Blessing
- Dash
- Orbital Laser
- Quest: Steel your Heart
- Spin to Win
- Stackosaurus Rex
Nerfs
Rioters share their belief that classes like tanks should have an advantage in reviving their allies, considering they often make tradeoffs in other areas. Currently, they are too overpowering in confrontations, so there will be a nerf, along with adjustments to other aspects in the Arena.
- Gragas
- Pyke
- Leona
- Pyke
- Center of the Universe
- Stalling Comps

Arena Mechanics
League of Legends will introduce mechanics adjustments, targeting some of the stalling comps that we've been seeing in Ring of Fire.
Arena Strategy
- LoL Devs will try to introduce a mix of tactical and strategic depth and decision making to the Arena Mode, creating situations in which players high roll and there's not much tactically you can do about it.
- Some champions wil have more high-roll and others will be more consistent, with lower ceilings.
There should be situations where players high roll and there's not much tactically you can do about it. In these instances, you take your top 2 and we want each champion long term to have access to this kind of thing. (Access to giga highrolls like 30k HP may not be super equal rn). We're targeting some champions as more swingy highroll-y and some being more consistent, with lower ceilings.

Community Reactions
As anticipated, the recent nerfs in League of Legends are generating mixed reactions within the fanbase. Yone and Sylas have enjoyed popularity and favoritism, particularly in lower elo, where LoL players aren't as good at countering them. The fanbase appears to be divided on the nerfs, with some expressing excitement that these two champions will be less overpowering and picked less frequently. On the other hand, there is a segment of the community that is displeased with this decision, reflecting the diverse opinions and sentiments within the League of Legends player base.
