The first season of Marvel Rivals is just around the corner. With a release date of January 10, 2025, Season 1 [Eternal Night Falls] is set to bring a plethora of new content to the game. Not only will players get to experience a total of three new maps, a new game mode, and a huge round of balance adjustments, but they will also get the chance to try out two new characters, Mister Fantastic, and Invisible Woman.

New Characters
That is right, the Fantastic Four will make their presence known on the stage of Marvel Rivals. The Fantastic Four is one of the more popular Marvel series, and it honestly was just a matter of time before the characters from it got the representation they deserved. The first part of Season 1 will see the introduction of Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman to the game. Both of these characters will take on distinct roles and will hopefully bring a ton of fun to be had.
Mister Fantastic
Mister Fantastic, also known as Reed Richards, is one of the two new characters that will come out in the first part of Season 1. In Marvel Rivals, Mister Fantastic takes on the role of a mid-ranged duelist. Mister Fantastic relies on his stretching limbs to attack his enemies from a slight distance, dealing a lot of damage with each hit. In addition, from what we’ve seen during his reveal trailer, he also has a decent amount of CC thanks to his RMB ability, which can bind two enemies and slam them into one another. And that’s not all. Mister Fantastic also has a ranged ability that he can use to poke enemies at range. Finally, his ultimate allows him to continuously jump up into the air and then slam down to deal damage. If you’re familiar with Zac’s ultimate from League of Legends, then Mister Fantastic’s ultimate is something similar. All in all, Mister Fantastic looks like an interesting addition to the Duelist lineup, and we can’t wait to try him out when he releases.

Invisible Woman
Invisible Woman, also known as Susan Storm, is the second new character to make an appearance during the first part of Season 1. In Marvel Rivals, Invisible Woman is classified as a strategist who focuses on creating force fields to control the tide of battle. Invisible Woman can use her force fields to create various scenarios in which she can both benefit her team and disrupt the enemies. One of her abilities allows her to spawn a force field shield on the field that can block enemy projectiles, effectively blocking damage for allies who stay behind it. Another of her abilities allows her to push enemies away while dealing damage. This ability can come in handy in maps that allow you to push enemies off bounds, instantly killing them. In addition to this, one of Invisible Woman’s skills allows her to wrap herself in a force field and become invisible. This sets her up for some incredible plays, be it flanking up on enemies or just escaping when things get too hot. Lastly, Invisible Woman’s ultimate generates a massive force field in a circular area. This force field makes it so that players outside of the force field will not be able to see what’s happening inside. This will be a game-changer when it comes to team fights, as Invisible Woman will be able to limit how much damage the enemy’s ranged heroes can do. After all, you can’t hit what you can’t see. Invisible Woman will certainly shake up the meta, and it is interesting to see how she will play out in the fast-paced environment of Marvel Rivals.
