Thor is one of the few Vanguard heroes in Marvel Rivals. He is a powerful melee hero who protects the team by reducing enemy numbers. He does that by dealing a ton of damage and staying on the front lines. Thor is a Vanguard hero. He is both a Tank and a DPS character. Unlike most other tanks that help the team by setting up walls, giving shields, and other things, Thor helps the team by taking and dealing a ton of damage. He can quickly bring enemies to their knees with his Normal Attacks and gets even more frightening when he unleashes his enhanced state with his F skill.
Thor relies on a resource known as [Thorforce] to use abilities. This resource is capped at 3 Thorforce and can be consumed by various abilities, with each ability costing a different amount of Thorforce. Each Thorforce you consume grants Thor 100 Bonus Health, with that capping out at 200 Bonus Health. If you play your cards right, you will always stay at 700 total Health. In addition, Thorforce regenerates at a rate of 1 every 5s, but you can speed this up by landing Normal Attacks. Each Normal Attack Thor lands gives back 1 Thorforce. So if you’re in the middle of the fight, you are unlikely to run out of Thorforce.
With Thorforce explained, it’s time to look at Thor’s skills. His Normal Attack is a melee ranged strike that deals good and consistent damage. His shift [Storm Surge] is a good dash that can be charged to gain more distance, and it costs 1 Thorforce to use. Thor’s E ability [Lightning Realm] is a damaging ability that restores Thorforce depending on how many enemies you hit. So if you’re not able to normal attack but desperately need Thorforce, the E ability is the one to use. Lastly, Thor’s F ability [Awakening Rune] is the most important one of his kit. This ability enhances Thor’s normal attacks, making them ranged and increasing their damage. This can help you dish out a ton of damage, but it comes with the drawback of only lasting for 5 seconds. So be careful when using it.
Finally, Thor’s ultimate [God of Thunder]. This is a simple ultimate that focuses on dealing a ton of damage in a decently sized area. You can use this as an engagement tool to start fights or to finish off enemies. All in all, Thor is a simple hero to play and is easy to pick up and master.
