In the latest Harbinger Collection Event patch for Apex Legends, two prominent aggressive picks, Revenant and Horizon, have undergone significant nerfs. While these changes won't completely remove them from the meta, they will noticeably weaken their impact in the game.
Horizon, known for her dominance since her release, has received substantial nerfs in this update. The primary focus of her kit, her tactical ability, has been significantly scaled back. The specific nerfs include:
- Reduced weapon accuracy while using Lift, resulting in more spread.
- 20% reduction in Vertical Lift speed.
- Hover time at the top of Lift reduced to 0.5 seconds (down from 2.0 seconds).
High-level players in Apex Legends have excelled at utilizing Horizon's tactical ability strategically. These nerfs, however, will have a meaningful impact across all skill levels, affecting gameplay both with and against Horizon. The decreased hover time, slower lift speed, and reduced weapon accuracy are all substantial adjustments. With many other formidable Skirmishers in the game, Horizon's dominance may be challenged.
As for Revenant, these nerfs come following his recent rework, aiming to fine-tune his balance. His ultimate ability has seen significant adjustments, while his tactical ability received a minor quality-of-life improvement:
Forged Shadows (Ultimate):
- Reduced time extension from knocks to 5 seconds (down from 10 seconds).
- Extra damage to the shroud will now affect Revenant if it breaks.
Shadow Pounce (Tactical):
- Slightly increased pounce angle compensation when looking at the ground.
While the reduced time extension is a notable adjustment, the second nerf holds significant weight in specific scenarios. Revenant's shield will no longer absorb a full hit, making Shotguns and Snipers much more potent against him.
These changes are just a fraction of the broader balance adjustments introduced in the Apex Legends Harbinger Collection Event patch. The game's meta is bound to undergo substantial shifts once the update is implemented.
