Unfortunately, you cannot just stumble upon the Fragrant Spice while you're walking around in the forest. Instead, you need to purchase it from merchants and spend some hard-earned Reeve. Moreover, you can find this ingredient only in Martira. The good news is that you can just fast-travel there at any point throughout your journey and get the item if you need it.
Once you reach Martira, go straight to the Cattleracket Road, which is located south of the King's Rock. When you get there, turn your attention towards the left side of the path, and you'll spot the Greengrocer Girl. She can sell you one unit of the Fragrant Spice for 100 Reeve. If you have some money to spare, we recommend purchasing more so you don't have to make unnecessary trips back and forth. Be aware that buying this item requires you to exhaust the entire dialogue with the merchant, which can be quite boring.
