Metaphor: ReFantazio How To Get Masks
Usually, you’ll obtain masks by exploring the map of Metaphor: ReFantazio or fighting enemies in dungeons. However, using these strategies will only bring you a limited number of the items, and you won’t be able to get a steady supply.
Thankfully, you can purchase Masks in two of the in-game stores. The first one is located in Virga Island, and you can find it after you complete the events in the Dragon Temple. The second one is called the Wary Shopkeep and you’ll see it on Seabreeze Street in Brilehaven.

Metaphor: ReFantazio How To Use Masks
When you start acquiring Masks, you’ll notice that some of them have different Arcana in their names. These are crafting materials for Archetype Masks, and you’ll need them to unlock the Masked Dancer. Once you have it, go to the Akademeia and ask More to explain how the experiments work.
When you use the Arcana Mask pieces, you’ll be able to create the Mask of any Archetype that you currently own and equip it to your character with the Masked Dancer. To craft Masks, find the Special Experiments section in Akademeia and look for the list of Masks available. Be aware that you’ll need a few Arcana Masks to make one Archetype Mask, and once you start the experiment, you cannot undo it.
