Axolotls are one of the most adorable mobs in Minecraft, but they're also quite rare. Therefore, it is really hard to find them. But don't worry at all! In this article, you will find all the information on how to breed and tame Axolotls in Minecraft.

The first step to breeding axolotls is finding them. These little creatures spawn in underwater caves in any biome, but they're not always easy to spot. Once you do find an axolotl, catch it by using a water bucket on it. You'll need at least two axolotls to breed, so keep searching until you have a pair.

Axolotls need a comfy place to live and breed. To create an axolotl habitat, follow these steps:

  1. Build a 3x3 area and surround it with blocks (glass works well)
  2. Make the walls at least 2 blocks high to prevent escapes
  3. Cover the top to protect from hostile mobs
  4. Fill the entire enclosure with water

While you can't tame axolotls in the traditional sense, you can move them around. Remember, Axolotls need to stay in the water to survive, so don't keep them out for too long.

Axolotls are picky eaters - they'll only chow down on live tropical fish. To breed your axolotls, give each one a tropical fish. After a minute or two, a baby axolotl will appear!

The blue axolotl is the rarest variant in Minecraft with a 1/1200 chance of spawning. Even if you don't have a blue parent, there's still a teeny tiny chance of getting a blue baby when breeding other colors.

If you're desperate for a blue buddy and don't mind using cheats, you can summon one with this command:

  • /summon minecraft:axolotl ~ ~ ~ {Variant:4}

Just remember, using console commands will disable achievements. Axolotls are more than just a pretty face in Minecraft - they're also fierce underwater defenders! These little cuties will attack any hostile mob that dares enter their territory (except for turtles and dolphins).
