Recently, Sledgehammer Games revealed the initial set of content for Modern Warfare 3. Following that, at Gamescom 2023, players got a glimpse of gameplay and possibly a sneak peek at the upcoming Warzone map.

Certainly, returning to a MW2 match with only a few months left in the game's lifecycle can be challenging. However, Season 5 Reloaded brings ample fresh content for multiplayer enthusiasts to enjoy. A new 6v6 map, three new weapons, and a fresh game mode are among the highlights.

Multiplayer also borrows a concept from Warzone by introducing a play again feature. This announcement triggered a mix of excitement and frustration among the community.

Mixed Reactions from Modern Warfare 2 Players

In MW2, after a multiplayer match ends, the lobby disbands, and players move on to a new match with a different group. In the past, classic Call of Duty games kept lobbies together, fostering a sense of community as players made new friends and rivals.

Even COD Vanguard employed disbanding lobbies, leading 100 Thieves co-owner Jack "CouRage" Dunlop to voice his disagreement: "I will never understand this change to Call of Duty multiplayer."

Furthermore, during the beta testing of Modern Warfare 2, players voiced their dissatisfaction with disbanding lobbies. Infinity Ward responded, stating: "We've heard a lot from you about disbanding lobbies. We're working on adjustments to increase the likelihood of lobbies staying together and enhancing the user interface when it occurs."

It took several months to see this feedback put into action, but Season 5 Reloaded introduces a play again feature to MW2, allowing players on the same team to continue playing together.

What Sledgehammer Games has planned for multiplayer lobbies in Modern Warfare 3 remains to be unveiled.
