Monster Hunter Wilds is the newest addition to the Monster Hunter series and one of the most anticipated games for 2025. Following the release of Monster Hunter World, the series managed to finally carve its place on PC and reach an even wider audience. After that, the developers tried to further expand the series on PC with the release of Monster Hunter Rise, and while the game managed to receive a stable amount of players, it certainly did not have the same impact on the franchise as World did. Whether it was due to its slightly different graphic style that is more reminiscent of the older Monster Hunter games rather than World, or its slightly different take on the monster hunting playstyle, is unknown, but it certainly did not impact players the same way.

Well, Monster Hunter Wilds is almost here and is expected to do just that. With an art style that focuses more on realism and which looks like an updated version of World, a new way of exploring the maps through the help of a mount, and the changes to gameplay to each weapon, Wilds is sure to shake the world again in a way that World did back in 2018.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test 2 Dates

Those who have not tried Monster Hunter World but are eager to try and get into the series with Wilds might just be in luck. Monster Hunter Wilds is releasing on the 28th of February, but it is also doing so with a hefty price tag. Those who do not have the funds or aren’t willing to invest that much in a game they are unsure they will like are bound to be on the fence about purchasing it. That is why the developers behind the series have decided to run a second open beta test for the game just a week or two before its official launch. The open beta will be accessible to anyone, whether they’re playing on PlayStation, Xbox, or Steam, and it will be entirely free, allowing everyone who wants to test out the game to do so. Having an open beta test for the game prior to Wilds’ official release is a great move to boost interest in the game and maybe even turn some players who were on the fence about purchasing the game before.

Notes

Those of you who are going to be participating in the tests should keep in mind that the progress you make during the Open Beta will not transfer to the official game. All of your progress will be wiped after the second open beta round has concluded, so take that into consideration when deciding how much time to spend on these tests, and try not to get burnt out before the official game has even been released.

Also worth noting is that the second open beta test will include almost the same amount of content as the first round, with the only exception being the addition of a new monster known as the [Gypceros]. Do not forget that the content in the second round of open betas does not cover the entire content that will be available during the official release of the game. This is nothing more than a demo, a taste of what the full game will be like, so approach it as just that and try to make the most out of your time with it!
