Unlocking New Characters in MultiVersus

There are 3 ways in which you can unlock characters in MultiVersus via currency. Here's a breakdown.

MultiVersus Currencies

Fighter Currency

You can earn Fighter Currency in MultiVersus simply by playing the game, meaning this is your go-to way of earning new characters via the purely free-to-play method! It'll take some patience, but try and enjoy the journey and you'll get your hands on your favorite characters in no time.

Gleamium

Gleamium is the premium currency in MultiVersus, paid for with real-life cash. You can buy a small stack of 450 Gleamium for about $5, while the biggest package is 6,000 Gleamium for $50 (with a few medium packages in between). Spend Gleamium to skip the grind and unlock your favorite characters with a swipe.

Character Tickets

Batches of Character Tickets were only available with the Founder's Pack of MultiVersus which, as of the time of writing, is no longer available for purchase.

MultiVersus Battle Pass Characters

Some characters in MultiVersus, such as Jason Foorhees in Season 1, can be obtained without Fighter Currency via the premium Season 1 Battle Pass. In fact, Jason is the very first reward you'll unlock on the Battle Pass, meaning you can play the lumbering horror immediately upon gaining access.

Players who play MultiVersus during the open beta phase (ending June 11) will get free access to the Season 1 Battle Pass, while those who do not will have to pay Gleamium for Battle Pass access.

The Season 1 Battle Pass will also offer a ton of MultiVersus cosmetics, Fighter Currency, Perk Currency, and more. In addition, you will also earn enough Gleamium by completing the Season 1 Battle Pass that you will be able to purchase the Season 2 Battle Pass effectively for free.
