New Helldrivers 2 Patch Teases an Upcoming Event

Helldivers 2 has been out for almost a whole week now, but unfortunately, the game is still suffering from server issues. Many players are experiencing errors and crashes while trying to play, including joining squads, using quickplay, and completing missions. Arrowhead Game Studios has already stated that the cause of these issues is mainly due to underestimating the boom in popularity that the game experienced, putting stress on their servers and breaking some features in the process.

Not only has the lack of mission rewards bug been fixed, but it's also now easier to know when you'll be able to log in and play if the servers have reached capacity. This morning, we gathered the best engineers Super Earth can muster to look at the main issues that are impacting your experience and to fix them.

These issues are caused mostly by having so many players in the game and server capacity creating unexpected behaviors.

Let me update you on what we did so far with the latest patch being deployed:

Server Capacity and log in access:

• We have eased the authentication request overall.
• We have improved error message visibility and added a countdown timer to clearly show when a new attempt will be made.
• Progression and mission reward not being granted:
• We fixed the daily and difficulty progression error
• Based on the testing we have done we believe we have fixed future mission rewards but will continue to monitor this closely as it is our top priority
• To compensate for lost rewards, we are working on an increased reward event

The last line of text featured in these patch notes is quite interesting. It appears that Arrowhead is not going to overlook all of the bugged mission rewards. They plan to address this issue by introducing a future event with an increased rate of experience and resources/currency items.
