New Weapons in Genshin Impact 4.5

During the Genshin Impact version livestream on March 1st 2024 it was announced that we’d be getting 2 new weapons in Version 4.5.

One of these weapons will be a 4-star Polearm, while the other a 5-star sword. In this article we’ll look at both weapons, their effects and how you can get them!

Version 4.5 New Weapons

As already mentioned there are two new weapons coming to Genshin Impact in Version 4.5.

The first weapon we’ll look at is the 4-star Polearm - [Dialogues of the Desert Sages], and the second weapon coming is Chiori’s signature 5-star sword - [Uraku Misugiri]. 

Let’s look at both weapons, what they do and how you can get them!

Dialogues of the Desert Sages

Dialogues of the Desert Sages is the newest 4-star Polearm to join the game. This weapon will be obtainable from the main event in Version 4.5 - [Alchemical Ascension].

By completing the tasks in the event you will be able to get the Dialogues of the Desert Sages and increase its refinement to 5.

• Substat: HP%
• Effect: When the wielder performs healing, restore 8 Energy. This effect can be triggered once every 10s and can occur even when the character is not on the field.

Uraku Misugiri

Uraku Misugiri is the second weapon coming in Version 4.5 and its Chiori’s signature weapon. The only way to obtain this 5-star sword will be through the Limited Weapon Banner that will run alongside Chiori’s banner.

• Substat: Crit DMG%
• Effect: Normal Attack DMG is increased by 16% and Elemental Skill DMG is increased by 24%.
  • After a nearby active character deals Geo DMG, the aforementioned effects increase by 100% for 15s. Additionally, the wielder's DEF is increased by 20%.

Conclusion

Both weapons seem to be an interesting addition to the game with Uraku Misugiri having the more utility of the two. 

With the sword’s effect giving a big boost to DEF%, we speculate that it may see some use on Albedo, and finally replace the Cinnabar Spindle as his best in slot, given that you are no longer able to obtain that weapon.

As for the Polearm, the Dialogues of the Desert Sages looks absolutely phenomenal, however, with its main stat and effect we can only assume that the only character that will fully be able to utilize it is Yaoyao, so we cannot wait to get to test it out and see what it’s capable of.
