Overwatch 2 Season 7 Tanks Tier List
Check out our new and improved tier list for the best and worst tank heroes in Overwatch 2 so you can find your new main and climb the ladder much faster.
You can see which heroes are viable and get a better understanding of how to choose tank heroes for your team, especially if you are uncertain about which hero synergizes well with your composition.
F Tier Tank Heroes
Wrecking Ball
This hero simply does not offer enough value, and with there being too many ways to counter team composition that include Wrecking Ball, it is not worth picking him up when there are more viable options.
D Tier Tank Heroes
Winston
Although a bit better than Wrecking Ball, Winston heavily suffers from slow effects that paint him as an easy target to shoot down. You need to time your engages well with your teammates in order to get the most value out of your kit, but he lacks enough utility to get picks onto supports.

Zarya
This hero relies on her energy to deal enough damage and sustain the frontline pressure, although she becomes quite dangerous if left unchecked. However, she lacks the mobility to get to the enemy backline which makes her inconsistent in most matchups.
B Tier Tank Heroes
Reinhardt
He is stuck in B Tier as he has too many counter picks and he heavily relies on having a Lucio on his team. He has the fastest shield recharge rate in the game so the amount of utility he brings with his ultimate as well allows him to greatly impact the game.

Ramattra
He is in the same spot as Reinhardt, but his big hitbox struggles against anti-heal compositions. While a great pick on brawl maps, you need to be careful with the amount of punishment you can take, otherwise, you become easy pickings quite fast.
Doomfist
Doomfist has been better evaluated at B Tier, and although his abilities allow him to counter one of the best supports currently, he struggles against the high amounts of CC that are dominating the meta.

Roadhog
He now has the tools to re-enter skirmishes instead of being a punching bag that has one effective ability that can easily be dodged. His one-shot capabilities have become better, catching badly-positioned enemies can be a huge game-changer. Definitely, a high-skill ceiling hero who has a lot of potential following his rework.
A Tier Tank Heroes
D.Va
The strongest dive tank currently, and although her kit is not as flashy as the S Tier tanks, she still provides great resourcefulness and damage that elevates her to A Tier. She shines in terms of flexibility, power, and oppressiveness.
Junker Queen
An excellent duelist who mainly revolves around an aggressive playstyle, and although her only defensive ability is on a long cooldown, she offers a lot of pressure and damage to her team. What makes a great Junker Queen player is the ability to position yourself well, and not entirely rely on soaking damage.

Orisa
An amazing bully, especially in a brawl-heavy meta. Her damage mitigation and stun can greatly undermine any aggressive engage from the enemy team as her utility further enhances her relevancy.
S Tier Tank Heroes
Sigma
Sigma is a standout among the tank heroes as his kit has all of the necessary abilities a frontline should have, and his synergy greatly helps your team to get easy picks. Although with Roadhog's current rework, he might finally see some counterplay, especially in 1v1 scenarios.

Summary
The season 7 meta in Overwatch 2 has seen some shifts with the recent Roadhog rework and hero changes, shifting some tanks lower than before. The star currently is Roadhog as he is slowly starting to gain relevance again with his new changes.
