Upon the launch of Overwatch 2: Invasion, players were finally able to immerse themselves in the long-anticipated PvE missions. As players delved into the inaugural set of Story Missions, a formidable obstacle stood in their way, meticulously crafted by the developers. The Legendary difficulty, true to its name, has proved to be a monumental challenge.

This difficulty level has demanded multiple days of concerted effort from players and streamers to conquer individual Story Missions on Legendary. To surmount this challenge, players have strategically collaborated, utilizing intricate call-outs and precise tactics to navigate through the demanding encounters.

A week following the game's release, Overwatch 2's developers, via a blog post penned by Aaron Keller, the game's director, shed light on the success rates of these missions, revealing an astonishingly low completion rate.

Keller disclosed, "Only 1.6% of attempts successfully completed Gothenburg on Legendary," thereby exposing the strikingly low percentage of triumphs. He proceeded to reveal that "0.7% of attempts on Toronto were successful." Notably absent was the success rate for the first mission, Rio De Janeiro; however, it is reasonable to infer that this rate is comparatively higher owing to the mission's relative ease.

Keller emphasized his delight in witnessing players' Legendary runs, acknowledging the monumental difficulty inherent in these missions. He stated, "These missions on Legendary are hard. Super hard. Most people can't complete them at this difficulty, and those that did had to devise custom strategies and team comps to get past the hardest encounters."

This sentiment was well illustrated when popular Overwatch streamers—Flats, Emongg, Seagull, and KarQ—embarked on a mission to conquer all the Legendary missions. Their concerted efforts took several days, even for the most seasoned players among them. Throughout their endeavors, the group experimented with diverse hero compositions, ult combinations, and intricate tactics to overcome these trials.

For those contemplating a journey to conquer Overwatch 2's PvE missions on Legendary difficulty, meticulous preparation is undoubtedly advised.
