As Season 6 approaches, the hype has reached unprecedented levels, with the upcoming release of controversial story missions, a new support hero, and captivating lore updates all set to hit the game on August 10.

In addition to the highly anticipated content, the development team is committed to ensuring game balance by introducing a series of changes to the existing roster, with a significant focus on the Tank heroes.

Major Tank Adjustments in Overwatch 2 Season 6 In a recent Director's Take, Aaron Keller, the Overwatch 2 director, unveiled numerous gameplay alterations planned for Season 6, particularly addressing the Tank heroes. Keller announced:

"We’re making a change to the way we calculate damage against armor. Armor damage reduction is now additive with other sources of damage reduction and respects the current cap of 50%."

This adjustment aims to prevent certain heroes from becoming excessively difficult to damage due to the previous multiplicative nature of damage reduction, which allowed them to bypass the intended damage reduction cap. The heroes mostly affected by this change will be Ramattra and Orisa.

Additionally, Keller disclosed modifications to Ramattra and Doomfist's block abilities, enabling them to now reduce damage from "stuck" abilities. This enhancement comes as a welcome improvement since one of the most frustrating experiences in the game was getting stuck by a Cassidy nade or Echo bombs, attempting to block the damage, only to be hit by the full detonation.

Orisa, in particular, is receiving special attention, with Keller stating:

"We’re continuing to make changes to Orisa. Her Fortify ability will now grant 125 bonus health, and the start of her damage falloff will be slightly extended. We wanted to see how much the midseason changes would bring her up before the armor/damage reduction hit and think she needs a bit more to compensate"

As Season 6 approaches, players can expect a game-altering experience with these exciting buffs for Orisa, Doomfist, and Ramattra. For more updates and news on the changes scheduled for Mercy and Kiriko, stay tuned for the latest developments.
