It's been a week since Overwatch 2's newest tank hero, Mauga, became available in Quick Play. Players have been enjoying testing out his kit on various maps and against the hero roster. Mauga is set to make his ranked debut in just a few days, and Blizzard has been making numerous changes based on the data provided by players in Quick Play. Despite receiving some nerfs last week, it appears they were a bit too much, leading Blizzard to decide to revert some of them in the next patch. Here are all the changes happening to Mauga next week.

Overwatch 2 Mauga Nerfs Reverted In New Patch
Alec Dawson, the lead hero designer for Overwatch 2, recently tweeted that after looking at the most recent data from Quick Play, Blizzard is going to be reverting some of the nerfs they made to Mauga last week. While Mauga was in a decent spot ahead of his ranked debut, these changes aim to make him competitive with the rest of the top tanks in the roster. Here is Alec Dawson's tweet on these changes:
Last set of Mauga changes gave us a clearer look at his positioning and we'll be making some more adjustments before he enters Competitive next week. We'll be rolling back the ignite change on the left-click and tuning up his survivability further.
Should go live Tuesday.

Here are the changes that are going to be reverted in the new patch:
Chainguns
- Chaingun damage reduced from 5 to 4.
- The number of shots with the Incendiary Chaingun to ignite enemies increased from 10 to 15.
Cage Fight (Ultimate)
- Duration reduced from 10 to 8 seconds.
Those were all of the changes to Mauga coming to Overwatch 2 next week. The new hero is looking to be quite strong, with his ranked debut just a few days away. For more Overwatch news and guides, check out the rest of our resources!
