Here is the breakdown of all the changes Blizzard Entertainment added in the latest Overwatch 2 patch notes:

DPS Role Passive Buffed

The damage role passive healing reduction has been increased from 15% to 20%. This means dealing damage as a DPS hero reduces enemy healing by 20% for a short time. The goal of the change is to make damage heroes more effective against teams with high healing abilities.

Venture Damage Nerfed

Venture, the new DPS hero, has received nerfs to their damage output.

  • The SMART Excavator's maximum explosion damage has been reduced from 45 to 40.
  • Additionally, Drill Dash's initial impact damage has been decreased from 40 to 30.
  • Venture's ultimate, Tectonic Shock, has also had its charge cost increased by 10%.

Orisa's Survivability Reduced

Orisa, a powerful tank hero, has received nerfs aimed at reducing her survivability.

  • Fortify's duration has been reduced from 4.5 to 3.5 seconds.
  • Orisa now moves 20% slower while fortified. This change makes it harder for Orisa to engage in prolonged fights.
  • Javelin Spin's cooldown has been increased from 7 to 9 seconds, reducing its uptime in battles.

Bug Fixes and Map Updates

The patch also includes several bug fixes, such as:

  • An issue causing D.Va's pings to enter multiple zeros in the chat has been resolved.
  • The Hanamura map has received lighting improvements and is now available in the Assault Arcade mode and Custom Games
  • A bug that allowed Venture to be launched back at high speeds when interacting with certain abilities has also been fixed.

Blizzard is continuously refining the balance in Overwatch 2 to make the game more engaging for players. The April 30th patch is focused on addressing some of the overpowered heroes and giving the DPS role more influence.
