Hero Reworks

  • Sombra: Sombra's rework has made her increasingly popular, with a 4% to 5% increase in her win rate. Developers are still evaluating the effectiveness of her ultimate (EMP) and the cooldown frequency.
  • Roadhog: Regarding the Roadhog rework, Aaron mentioned changes to his primary fire, adjustments to his ability 'Take a Breather,' and the introduction of a new ability. However, this rework won't be part of the mid-season patch and has been postponed.

Hero Balance Changes

  • Community demands for nerfing Support Heroes have been heard. Multiple Support characters will undergo changes to reduce their overall sustain and survivability. Additionally, a slight nerf for Bastion, mainly affecting his Assault Form, is in the works.

Upcoming Events

  • Following the success of the ongoing Halloween Terror Event, developers plan to create an extended version of the 'Trials of Sanctuary' game mode with more progression and player choice. A collaboration with Le Sserafim is confirmed for later this month. BlizzCon will unveil the next Tank Hero for Overwatch 2 and provide a roadmap for what's coming in 2023 and 2024.

Gameplay Changes

  • Based on community feedback, developers will focus on improving the competitive mode, Battle Pass experience, and in-game shop. Details about the reworked competitive game mode will be revealed at BlizzCon, while the rest of the changes are scheduled for early next year.

Legendary Skins

  • In response to community concerns about the Lilith Moira Legendary Skin being exclusive to the Overwatch 2 Season 7 Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle priced at $39.99 USD, developers plan to offer alternative ways for players to acquire popular skins.

These are the expected changes and additions coming with the Overwatch 2 Season 7 Mid-Season Patch. Keep an eye out for which Heroes receive buffs and nerfs, how the meta evolves, and the rewards in upcoming events.
