Overwatch 2 Season 9 Tank Heroes Tier list
RAMMATRA - S TIER
Rammatra is an all-in-one tank hero. His damage reduction, consistent damage, utility, and abilities make him almost unmatched in the tank role.
His slow is extremely effective at setting up easy kills and larger projectiles mean more headshots. His shield is amazing at allowing your team to push up and take more space like no other hero.
SIGMA - S TIER
Sigma's primary fire is way easier to hit because of the recent projectile buffs, and his massive shield and Kinetic Grasp soak up massive amounts of damage. He can make sure the DPS heroes are free to do their job while taking a lot of space at the same time.
His ultimate ability also allows for way easier kills in combination with a good DPS hero.

JUNKER QUEEN - A TIER
One of the best tank heroes when it comes to damage. Junker Queen is a very well-rounded hero who can take a lot of space on her own. Pair her with a good DPS hero and she will be a very valuable member of your team.
She has retained her power in brawl comps in Season 9 and remains a potent pick in solo queue due to her independent style.
D.VA - A TIER
D.Va's ultimate is still very weak for offensive pushes but she has gained more survivability due to the health pool changes and can now get back into her pilot form faster than before because of the projectile changes. Her damage negation is also as good as ever and can be very useful in team fights.
MAUGA - A TIER
Having a very big hitbox, you would think Mauga would be at a disadvantage with the recent changes, however, his abilities give him more than enough survivability to make up for it. He can almost be played like a damage hero while tanking way more damage for his team.
ZARYA - A TIER
Unlike some of the other tank heroes in this tier list, Zarya has been buffed by the projectile buffs because of how fast she gains charge. Good bubble management and playing carefully is still required to play her but the faster charge makes things much better as her damage output is enough to be a good matchup against a lot of heroes.

ORISA - B TIER
Orisa is very good at stalling and can easily win a tank duel. She is also good at slowly pushing DPS heroes out of an area and has good sustainable damage. With that being said, Orisa's ultimate is now very risky to use as it requires a lot of your team's resources to make a play with it.
WRECKING BALL - B TIER
Although a good hero with consistent damage because of his hit-scan weapon and bullet projectile buffs, he is still suboptimal against his counters and can easily be killed without being in his ball form.
His ultimate can still force players out of an area which isn't super good but can be useful in some situations.
REINHARDT - B TIER
His new damage buffs and an insane shield make him a very good option for close-quarters combat. However, because of the DPS changes, other heroes can destroy your shield quite fast at range and eventually overwhelm you.
Very good shield management is needed to make the most of him but even then, Reinhardt still needs a support hero to back him up most of the time.
DOOMFIST - B TIER
Despite his rather small hitbox and damage buffs, Doomfist still struggles to survive in tough situations. Getting kills and being able to stay alive long enough to have an impact is a difficult task for him because of the hero's health changes.
Doomfist is still a great hero with consistent damage but compared to the other tanks, he is not an optimal character to play.

WINSTON - C TIER
Overall, Winston is in a similar state as before, however, because of the projectile changes and his head hitbox, he is prone to a lot more poke damage and now requires very precise gameplay without mistakes to make the most out of him. Without perfect engages, it will be very hard to secure kills.
His Primary Fire buff does help him to charge his ultimate faster but it requires being up close and personal which is very risky without your bubble.
ROADHOG - F TIER
With the new changes to projectile size, Roadhog now takes even more damage than before. Despite his immense health pool of 800, it's still not enough to keep him alive long enough to have a good impact.
With the new health pool changes, it is incredibly hard to one-shot. The shotgun deals 160 damage + 40 damage for the new melee and 5 damage for the hook which equals 205 damage without Pig Pen which is not nearly enough.
