Palworld revealed its first significant update during Summer Game Fest, and the developers claimed they couldn't fit it all in the trailer due to the large amount of content. Sakurajima is the name of the island that will be included. Aside from a completely new island to explore, players can expect new Pals, bosses, raids, equipment, and a higher level cap.
It appears like there will be plenty of reasons to return to Palworld, particularly for players who have exhausted all of the existing content.
Palworld Sakurajima: Game Modes
We'll include The Oil Rig Stronghold here because the trailer does not specify whether it is part of a new mode or simply a region near the island's shore in Palworld. However, Arena is a new game mode, and it appears to be a Palworld PvP option in which players can pit their skills against one another.
Having an area where you may battle other players could be a significant motivation to return to the game, and it provides replayability to keep players coming back even after they're done with the rest of the content included in this update.

Palworld Sakurajima: New Faction and Boss
The Palworld Sakurajima trailer ends with a glimpse of a new boss who appears to be a member of a group that has yet to be seen in-game. She sits on a crescent moon with her Pal beside her, sharing a toast before the camera pans out to reveal a symbol on the wall behind them.
Flower petals in the air add to the aesthetic and mysterious atmosphere that surrounds her. However, as exquisite as the image appears, she will most certainly be a hard, and possibly frustrating, Palworld boss fight when players encounter her on the new island.

The Sakurajima update will also include a new raid in Palworld, however it is unlikely to be related to the new group. The trailer only shows a quick scene of it, but it appears to be in the desert. A Pal who appears to merge fire and earth arrives in the center of a circle of pillars, roaring as a group of players and Pals sprint towards it to fight.
Because a new raid equals a new raid boss, it's only natural to mention it alongside the other new boss, even if they don't belong to the same faction.

Palworld Sakurajima: Other Features
Of course, other minor things are being added to the Palworld Sakurajima update that were briefly referenced in the trailer. To deal with the new raid, faction, and boss, the level cap has been increased, and new items can be added to players' arsenals to aid in exploring the island and battling unknown Pals.
There are also new buildings to add to bases, as well as, presumably, new technology options as levels progress. With all of this additional content, extending the size of a base or offering an in-game option to do so would be a wonderful addition.
As a game that is currently in Early Access, this degree of refined content in an update makes Palworld feel like it has been fully released. However, this update adds to what appears to be a promising future for Palworld, both in Early Access and when it is fully released.
