Pokemon Legends Z-A Trailer

As we said above, Lumiose City draws heavy inspiration from Paris, so the setting could be a stylized version of 19th-century France during a major redevelopment period. The trailer focuses on urban planning blueprints coming to life, hinting at a core theme of harmony between people and Pokémon.

This indicates that the story may involve transforming a once dark and dangerous city into a peaceful utopia through bonds of trust.

As seen in the trailer, Lumiose City will be the central setting. The city appears to only exist so far in plans and wireframes. The appearance of Mega Evolution also points to the plot involving exceptionally strong bonds between Trainers and Pokémon to inspire trust in the citizens.

Pokemon Legends Z-A Gameplay and Mechanics

As of this time of writing, no gameplay has been shown yet, but as a follow-up to the well-received Pokemon Legends: Arceus, fans can expect an open-world adventure with a sprawling Lumiose City to explore. 

Given the story's ties to Mega Evolution, it is likely that the mechanic will return. The battle system will probably repeat the system from Pokemon Legends: Arceus as well. More details on gameplay elements will come later as we approach the 2025 launch.

Characters Coming to Pokemon Legends Z-A

Some shots in the trailer suggest Pokémon like Arbok, Pikachu, Pinsir, Eevee and more from Gen 1-6 will appear. Much is still unknown about Pokémon availability.

With a year still before release, plenty remains to be unveiled. But the premise of harmonizing people and Pokémon while rebuilding Lumiose City into a grand utopia sets the stage for an exciting new Legend. As more trailers drop, the world and systems of Pokémon Legends: Z-A will come into clearer focus.
