RAID: Shadow Legends has recently released a new video on their YouTube channel, sharing with the players some of the upcoming changes that they can expect in future updates. In the video, it is mentioned that the main change that players can expect in the new update is changes to the Hydra boss. Currently, the boss feels way too easy and can be abused by using teams that focus on survival rather than dealing damage and clearing the boss fast, which has made it so that there are only a specific number of teams that you can use against Hydra. The changes that will be implemented with the new update will try to combat this while also making the boss harder and more challenging. Discover all of the upcoming changes below.

Turn Limit Changes
The first change that we’ll go over is the Turn Limit change. After the next update, Hydra battles will be capped at 1000 turns. This will force players to focus on teams that deal more damage rather than choosing teams that are survival-oriented.

Hydra Changes
Below you will be able to find the changes that will be coming to the Hydra boss in the new update.
Skill Changes | |
Decapitation | |
Old | New |
Once a Hydra Head's HP hits zero, it will be decapitated and become an Exposed Neck, with an entirely new set of skills and mechanics. A new random Hydra Head will grow out of the Headless Hydra after 2 turns. If all Heads have been decapitated, the next respawn will see 2 Heads join the battle. Places a [Decapitated] debuff on the Exposed Neck for 2 turns. Receives triple damage from enemy attacks while in a decapitated state. If all Heads have been decapitated, the next respawn will see 2 Heads join the battle. |
Once a Hydra Head's HP hits zero, it will be decapitated and become an Exposed Neck, with an entirely new set of skills and mechanics, including its own HP bar, equal to the combined HP of two Hydra Heads. A new random Hydra Head will grow out of the Exposed Neck after 2 turns or if the Exposed Neck is killed. If all Heads have been decapitated, the next respawn will see 2 Heads join the battle. Places a [Decapitated] debuff on the Exposed Neck for 2 turns or until the Exposed Neck is killed. Receives triple damage from enemy attacks while in a decapitated state. When the 2 turns are over or if the Exposed Neck is killed, a new Head will grow from it. |
Serpent's Will | |
Old | New |
[Serpent's Will] buff reduces all damage a new Head takes by 75%. It starts working once the dead Head is transformed into a new Head and is active until the new Head makes its first move. This buff can't be removed, stolen, or spread. Also, its duration can't be increased or decreased. |
The [Serpents Will] buff reduces all damage a new Head takes by 100%. It starts working once the dead Head is transformed into a new Head and is active until the new Head makes its first move. If two new Hydra Heads appear on the same turn or get killed at the same time, only one receives the [Serpent's Will] buff. This buff can't be removed, stolen, or spread. Also, its duration can't be increased or decreased. |
Mark of the Hydra | |
Old | New |
Marks one Champion who will be affected by the Devouring skill. This effect can't be removed, and its duration can't be decreased. It cannot be blocked or resisted, and ignores [Perfect Veil] and [Veil] buffs. The Mark of the Hydra is placed irrespective of the number of debuffs on the Champion. If a Champion has a [Taunt] buff, the [Mark of the Hydra] can only be placed on that Champion. If one Champion has a [Taunt] buff, and another has the [Mark of the Hydra] debuff, then devouring will not happen until the [Taunt) buff expires or is removed. |
