COD Next offered fans a sneak peek at Warzone's latest map, Urzikstan. This map will be the fourth large-scale addition to Warzone, joining the ranks of Verdansk, Caldera, and Al Mazrah. Notably, Urzikstan opts for a densely populated urban setting, eliminating vast open spaces.
However, Urzistan isn't the only map headed to Warzone in Modern Warfare 3. The upcoming battle royale title will also include Ashika Island and Vondel from MW2. Furthermore, Raven Software's Senior Creative Director, Ted Timmins, confirmed at COD Next that Warzone will introduce a Ranked Play mode in early 2024.
Just when fans thought they'd heard it all, Timmins made a surprise announcement, revealing the return of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep to Warzone in Modern Warfare 3.
According to CharlieIntel, "Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island will return in Call of Duty Warzone in 2024."
The insider report also noted that Fortune’s Keep will return first, early in 2024, with Rebirth Island following suit later in the same year.
Fortune’s Keep, primarily developed by High Moon Studios, made its debut in June 2022. This small-scale Resurgence map left a strong impression on players but was eventually removed from the map rotation when WZ2 launched in November 2023.
