Reverse: 1999 Argus Build Guide

Argus is the newest 6-star character to join the Reverse: 1999 roster. She is a powerful single-target DPS character who also supports the team with various buffs and debuffs. Argus can be a strong ally to buffing any type of damage, so you do not need to think about putting her in damage-specific teams. Argus is a 6-star Plant character who amplifies her own and her teammates’ damage. She does this by applying the unique [Pinpointed] buff, which decreases an enemy’s DMG Taken Reduction and Critical DEF by 15%, and this debuff only grows stronger as you continue to cast spells. In total, Argus can reduce the enemy’s DMG Taken and Critical DEF by up to 45%. This is a really powerful buff for your teammates and becomes even stronger when paired with teammates that rely heavily on Crit Rate, like Lucy, for example.

Apart from her support capabilities, Argus can also deal a ton of single-target damage. Her Skill I and Ultimate are single-target attacks with good multipliers, and she also benefits from a unique extra attack known as [Grave Digger]. This attack is once again single-target, and it grows stronger with the more incantations your team casts. All in all, Argus is a solid support/sub-DPS unit for your teams.

Argus Best Resonance

Given that Argus’ debuff is already strong on its own, the best way you can help Argus with resonance is by increasing her personal critical stats so that she can become a more useful DPS. While her damage is not on the high end of things, by choosing a good set of resonances, Argus can still provide her team with a bit of backup. Argus Best Psychubes

When it comes to Psychubes, Argus’ best choice is the newly added [Stray Off the Path] 6-star Psychube. This Psychube is tailor-made for Argus. Not only does it give Argus a good boost to the damage of her incantations, but it also increases her crit DMG by up to 18%. With the ridiculous buff in Crit Rate that Argus has, she is likely to be critting every attack, so a Crit DMG buff is a more than welcome addition.

If you do not happen to have the [Stray Off the Path], then the [Outside the City] Psychube can also prove to be useful. It once again gives a good boost in Crit DMG while also boosting Crit Rate by a bit, making a good Psychube to have on Argus.

1	Stray Off the Path	After the carrier actively casts a 1-target incantation, their next extra action within the round gains Incantation Might +12%. After the carrier casts a 1-target incantation, the carrier gains Critical DMG +6% (stacks up to 3 times, removed after casting a mass incantation).
2	Outside the City	After the carrier launches a 1-target attack through an extra action, Critical DMG +2%, up to 10 stacks. At 10 stacks, gain extra Critical Rate +8%.

Marcus is the main DPS of this team, and she fits amazingly well with Argus due to being able to cast a lot of high-ranked incantations. Argus greatly benefits from having allies that can cast a lot of incantations so that she can get more damage from her [Grave Digger] spell, and Marcus fits that role perfectly. And lastly, Vila is here to keep the team alive while offering buffs and requiring almost no AP to function, making her the perfect support for this team.

Lucy is a really greedy AP carry that also benefits greatly from having a high crit rate. As such, it is no wonder that both Argus and Tooth Fairy have been chosen here to support her. Both Argus and Tooth Fairy can greatly increase Crit Rate, allowing Lucy to pop off and do her thing. In addition, Tooth Fairy also works as a great healer to keep the team alive.

Windsong is yet another main DPS unit that benefits greatly from an abundance of Critical Rate. The great thing about Windsong is that she can also transfer her excess Critical Rate to Critical DMG, so you don’t need to worry about overcapping her. Knowing this, it is not hard to imagine that Argus will be a great support for Windsong, thanks to her amazing Critical Rate and DMG buff. We’ve already mentioned Vila’s usefulness in the first team, and it doesn’t change much here as well. She is just a solid support and healer to have in almost any AP-greedy team.
