Version 1.6 will mark six months since Reverse: 1999’s release late last year. As with any game, the half-year anniversary is a big milestone that brings with it a ton of new content.
One of the new things that will be added in this version is, of course, new characters. Reverse: 1999 1.6 will feature a total of three new characters, two 6-star and one 5-star.

Jiu Niangzi
Jiu Niangzi is the first 6-star character that will be making an appearance in version 1.6. She is set to be the first featured character in Reverse: 1999, meaning that if you do not get her on her banner, you won’t have any other chances of getting her.
According to sources in the Chinese version of the game, Jiu Ningzi is expected to be the strongest character that Reverse: 1999 has and is definitely a must-pull unit for any player.

Getian
Getian is the second 6-star character to be featured in version 1.6. Unlike Jiu Niangzi, Getian is a standard time-limited character that will later be added to the standard banner of Reverse: 1999 in version 1.9.
Getian is by no means a weak character, but given that Jiu Niangzi is just so powerful, it is unlikely that many players will be saving their resources to get Getian. Regardless, if you like his design and feel like you must have him, then don’t let us stop you.
Yenisei
Yenisei is the final new character to come with version 1.6. She is also the only new 5-star character this time around, and players will be able to get in the [Till the Last Drop] Event Limited Character Banner alongside Jiu Niangzi.
Although you won’t have a guarantee to get Yenisei, if you are pulling for extra copies of Jiu Ningzi you will have a good chance of getting her, so it is good to be familiar with her kit just in case. Below, you can see a full description of her skills and insights to help you get prepared.

Summary and Who to Pull
Reverse: 1999 1.6 certainly brings a set of new and interesting characters for players to test out. The star of this version is, without a doubt, Jiu Ningzi. Given that she is the first truly limited character, Jiu Niangzi has set the bar high for further characters of this type.
Both Yenisei and Getian are also well-developed characters with their unique strengths and uses, but they sadly fall slightly short of Jiu Niangzi.
If you’re pulling in version 1.6, then the 6-star character you should be pulling for is 100% Jiu Niangzi. She is the strongest DPS unit in the whole game, and she will likely hold that spot for quite some time. As of right now, Jiu Niangzi offers the best return on your investment.
