Rise of the Ronin offers players various weapons to select against their foes, and one of the most devastating tools is the Fire Pipe, a powerful flamethrower capable of burning through enemy defense. While acquiring the Fire Pipe is a relatively straightforward process, it does require players to complete a specific quest line and meet certain prerequisites.
Prerequisites for Unlocking the Fire Pipe
To gain access to the Fire Pipe, you must first forge a bond with Igashichi Iizuka, responsible for creating various gadgets and upgrades throughout the game. This bond is established after completing the "Locating the Camera" mission and visiting Iizuka at his photographic studio located in the Honcho district of Yokohama.
Iizuka possesses the ability to invent new tools and enhance existing ones, but to unlock this functionality, players must present him with a "Foreign Book". These unique items can be discovered within treasure chests scattered across the game world. Upon gifting Iizuka with a Foreign Book and achieving "Bond Level 1" with him, you can request the invention of the Fire Pipe and the Detector.

Obtaining the Fire Pipe
While having Iizuka invent the Fire Pipe is an important step, you will not immediately receive the weapon. Instead, you must complete a specific quest titled "A Lucky Find Put to Use". This mission is triggered when you provide Iizuka with the first Foreign Book and pay the required fee for the Fire Pipe's creation.
The quest itself is not particularly challenging, but it does involve a moderate time investment. You must accompany Iizuka to a hidden location housing his inventions, where he will bestow upon them the Detector, a device that aids in locating and silently eliminating enemies. Although stealthy gameplay is encouraged, the mission will not fail if you are detected by the enemies.

After successfully navigating to the storehouse, players will engage in another conversation with Iizuka, and you will get a Fire pipe after that. The weapon can be put to immediate use as you have to defend the building against incoming waves of enemies. Once all hostile forces have been defeated, the mission concludes, and the Fire Pipe becomes a permanent addition to your inventory.
