Team Ninja released the highly-anticipated Rise of the Ronin on March 22. In this action RPG, you will play as a masterless samurai, a ronin, in war-torn Japan during the 19th century. Caught in the middle of three major factions, your choices will direct the flow of history.
Face foes with a realistic selection of close-range weaponry and authentic period firearms. You choose how you want to fight, who you will ally with, and how the war will end.
If you are curious about how much time you should set aside to complete the game, that's what we are here for. Some people prefer to complete everything the game has to offer while others are here for the story and nothing more. We will have a look at both options.

Rise of the Ronin: How Long to Beat the Campaign?
Judging from previous games by Team Ninja, such as Nioh 1 and 2, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and other information we have found, it looks like the main story of Rise of the Ronin will take between 15 and 20 hours to complete. This is if you do nothing other than chase the golden path, have experience with open-world action RPGs, and have minimal deaths.
If you are new to open-world gameplay, it will most likely take you far longer. We have been told the combat system can be quite challenging so there may be a learning curve that will take us some time to get used to.

Rise of the Ronin: How Long to Beat the Whole Game?
If you are the type of player who will search out all side-quests and collectibles, then you will take far longer to complete Rise of the Ronin. We are expecting upwards of 55 hours of gameplay for the completionists.
That should include finding all available gear, companions, abilities, and learning about the rich culture of the Bakumatsu era of Japan. With what we know so far, you will be able to lose yourself in the world of Rise of the Ronin for up to 80 hours if you take your time.
I hope this helps you set aside time to play Rise of the Ronin. Check out our guides on all weapons and combat styles and all editions of the upcoming game.
