Sentinels Signs Former Cloud9 Star Zellsis Amid Rostermania

Sentinels have made a significant addition to their roster by signing former Cloud9 standout Jordan ‘Zellsis’ Montemurro as a substitute player.

During the VCT off-season, teams across the board are making changes to their rosters. One of the latest high-profile signings is Sentinels bringing back Zellsis for the 2024 season.

Sentinels made the announcement in their usual video format, featuring Sentinels head coach Adam ‘kaplan’ Kaplan addressing the fans directly.

Zellsis previously played for Sentinels during their journey through the 2022 Valorant Champions LCQ tournament, where he teamed up with Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek. Zellsis was on loan from Version1 and only participated in one event with the team as they unfortunately failed to secure qualification for the World Championships.

Now, at 25 years old, Zellsis will rejoin Sentinels as a substitute player, as the team already has a solid five-man roster ready to compete. Sentinels also recently added former M80 IGL Mouhamed ‘johnqt’ Ouarid to their squad on September 13, completing their roster.

In 2023, Zellsis was part of Cloud9's Valorant roster, joining forces with Jaccob ‘yay’ Whiteaker, and the team was touted as a North American super team. However, Cloud9 never had the chance to put this lineup to the test against VCT Americas competition as yay and the team’s IGL were removed from the squad before regular season competition began.

Despite these roster changes, Cloud9 performed impressively during the regular season, finishing in second place with an 8-1 record. However, the team was unable to qualify for any international events, exiting the VCT Americas playoffs in fourth place and the LCQ tournament in third.

During his time with Cloud9, Zellsis filled various roles, including Controller, Initiator, and Sentinel. Throughout his career, he has played matches with nearly every Valorant agent, with his most frequently used agents being KAY/0, Raze, and Phoenix.

As Sentinels’ sixth man, Zellsis brings versatility and the ability to adapt to various positions, making him a valuable addition to the team.
