The bookseller's visits are infrequent and unpredictable. He appears in Pelican Town twice per season on random days. To anticipate his arrival, keep an eye out for two key indicators:

Calendar Notification

Check the calendar outside Pierre's General Store for a hot air balloon icon, indicating the bookseller's scheduled visit.

In-Game Message

On the day of his arrival, you'll receive a pop-up message stating:

"The Bookseller is in town today."

If you miss these subtle hints, you will likely find Marcello's location deserted, as he swiftly departs after his brief visit.

Once you've located Marcello, you'll have the opportunity to browse and purchase a variety of books from his inventory. These books are not ordinary reading material because they offer permanent upgrades and abilities for your character.

Some books may increase your running speed, enhance your fishing expertise, or even reveal the value of items in your inventory. However, be prepared to spend a considerable amount of gold, as the rarest and most powerful books can cost up to 25,000g.

With the bookseller's infrequent visits and limited stock, it's essential to seize every opportunity to expand your collection and unlock new abilities. Keep a watchful eye on the calendar and be ready to embark on a quest to find Marcello's Books whenever he graces Pelican Town with his presence.
