Starfield "Delivering Devils" Quest: Dr. Walker Location

To locate Dr. Walker, who is believed to be on Cydonia, follow these steps to complete the "Delivering Devils" quest in Starfield.

Bethesda

In the UC Vanguard storyline of Starfield, "Delivering Devils" is the third main quest. This mission follows the "Grunt Work" quest, where you faced the fearsome Terromorph on Tau Ceti II and met Hadrian Sanon, a former xenobiologist. Sanon tasks you with finding Dr. Percival Walker and bringing him a sample of the Terromorph's corpse for further analysis.

To locate Dr. Walker, who is believed to be on Cydonia, follow these steps to complete the "Delivering Devils" quest in Starfield.

1. Head to the Trade Authority on Cydonia

Begin your quest at the Trade Authority on Cydonia. The Trade Authority is in the central hub area of Cydonia. As you enter the underground city, continue straight, and you'll find it on the right.

2. Talk to Oktai Embaya

Locate Oktai Embaya, who is just around the corner after you turn right near the main desk. Speak with Oktai to inquire about Percival. He informs you that Percival owes a substantial debt to the Trade Authority but doesn't know his exact location. However, you gain an idea of your next step.

3. Go to the Sixth Circle Bar

Proceed to the Sixth Circle bar after talking to Oktai. Here, you'll encounter a group of miners and Lou, the bartender. These individuals possess information about Percival's whereabouts but won't provide it for free.

4. Speak with Lou

Approach Lou and initiate a conversation. Lou may initially be cautious, so establish your trustworthiness as a UC Vanguard member. Select dialogue options indicating your Vanguard affiliation. Lou will then ask you two questions to verify your legitimacy.

  • Question 1: "What is the Vanguard Motto?" Answer: "Above and Beyond" (Alternatively, Sarah Morgan can provide a unique answer).
  • Question 2: "What grade did you get in your Entrance Exam?" Answer: "The Vanguard Entrance isn't graded like that."

Once you've answered these questions correctly, Lou shares information about Percival's issues with the Trade Authority and his significant debt. However, the only way Lou will disclose Percival's location is if you settle the debt.

5. How to Deal With Percival's Debt in Starfield

You have three options to address Percival's debt:

a. Pay the Debt Yourself: This choice involves paying off Percival's substantial debt of 21,867 credits immediately. It's not the most favorable option, considering the significant amount and the fact that Percival is a stranger.

b. Lower or Wipe the Debt: You can reduce or wipe out the debt by accessing a computer. To do this, head to the Cydonia server room, located near the Trade Authority area. To access this room, go to the Broken Spear bar, which is the first right turn from the main entrance, recognizable by its distinctive electronic sign above the door. Inside, proceed behind the bar, where you'll find a door with an advanced lock. You must have an upgraded lock-picking skill and at least one digipick to open it.

Once inside, interact with the computer, navigate to Percival's name, and choose to override his account and adjust the credits owed to the Trade Authority. You can reduce the debt in several ways, from a few thousand credits to twenty thousand credits. The minimum you can reduce it to is 1 credit, but it's advisable to leave some amount for safety and to avoid suspicion. Be cautious, as there's a chance of being caught by Cydonia security.

After selecting your desired debt reduction, return to Oktai at the Trade Authority and pay it off. Then, go back to Lou, and he'll reveal Percival's location.

c. Kill the Spacer Leader and Find Hematite: After speaking with Lou for the first time at the bar, you'll meet Cambridge Cooper, who offers another way to erase the debt. Cambridge asks you to clear out the Spacers and their leader from the Abandoned Mine area and find rare minerals called Hematite.

This choice is recommended, as it aligns with the mission's objectives and rewards you with the Pick-Me-Up recipe. This recipe allows you to craft an Aid item that boosts your carry capacity by 50 points for 15 minutes.

In the mines, locate the Spacer Leader, whom you must defeat. Along the way, mine Hematite with your laser cutter, as Cambridge needs this mineral. The mines contain ample Hematite, so use your scanner if you have trouble finding it.

You'll encounter a small lab in the mines where Cambridge conducted experiments. Use the communications device on the wall to contact Cambridge. He'll instruct you to place your Hematite samples into a specific machine. After doing so, you can take the Pick-Me-Up drug and an employee exit key from the research machine. The key allows access to a nearby elevator. Take the elevator and return to Cambridge, who will provide information on crafting the Pick-Me-Up drug. Use it to convince Oktai at the Trade Authority to clear the debt.

6. Finding Percival in Starfield

With the debt settled, proceed to the Abandoned Mines, where you'll encounter Spacers, as mentioned earlier. Follow the map marker to reach the mines in west Cydonia, and if you assisted Cambridge with his mission, you can fast-travel to the entrance.

Advance through the mines until you reach tunnels, and continue through them to reach the Red Devils HQ. Percival will be sitting on the steps outside the headquarters.

7. Heading Back to Cydonia

Engage in a conversation with Percival, discussing the Terromorph situation and your encounter with Hadrian. Percival agrees to accompany you back to Cydonia. Return to the Sixth Circle, where Hadrian awaits outside. Follow her to the back room of the bar with Percival for a final discussion. Upon completing this dialogue, you'll successfully conclude the "Delivering Devils" mission.
