Bethesda's Starfield has finally arrived, and players worldwide are gearing up to explore the vast reaches of space. Whether you're exploring new planets, tackling side quests, or engaging in the main campaign, you'll encounter combat scenarios. To survive these challenges, it's essential to have adequate weapons and gear.
However, Starfield's lack of local mini-maps can make finding shops challenging, especially early in the game when you're unfamiliar with the terrain. But don't worry; we've got you covered. Below, we'll guide you to the locations where you can purchase weapons and gear early in Starfield.
Where to Buy Weapons and Gear Early in Starfield
Your first opportunity to buy gear and stock up on ammo in Starfield comes in the city of New Atlantis. This is the first major city you'll explore in the game, located on the planet Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system. It's also home to Constellation's main base, The Lodge.
All the shops you need in Starfield's New Atlantis can be found in an underground area called The Well. To access The Well, take the elevator next to the Transit Station in the MAST district. Once you've reached MAST using a Transit Car, turn right upon arrival and walk straight until you reach the elevator.
Here's a list of the shops in The Well and the types of items they offer:
- Medical Bay: Provides aid items like Bandages and Heal Gel.
- Kay's House: Sells food and beverages.
- Apex Electronics: Offers resources, including Digipacks used to unlock doors and safes.
- The Trade Authority: Stocks weapons, ammo, spacesuits, and additional resources.
- U.C. Surplus: Provides weapons, ammo, armor, throwables, and spacesuits.
While these facilities in New Atlantis may not offer extraordinary gear, their available items will more than suffice for your early adventures in Starfield.
