Starfield UC Vanguard Faction: How to Join, Missions, and Rewards

In Starfield, a vast RPG adventure by Bethesda, the concept of factions plays a pivotal role, just like in other Bethesda titles. One of the major factions you can become a part of is the United Colonies Vanguard, or UC Vanguard for short. This guide will walk you through what it means to be a part of this faction.

Starfield offers a sprawling gaming experience beyond the main storyline. To thrive in this cosmic world, you'll need to buy a house, upgrade your spaceship, build relationships, and, most importantly, earn credits. Joining a faction can help you accomplish these tasks and engage in various activities. UC Vanguard is one such faction that welcomes members and assigns missions.

Let's delve into how you can join UC Vanguard and the rewards that await you in return.

Joining UC Vanguard in Starfield

Joining UC Vanguard is a straightforward process within the game. You can initiate this journey as soon as you reach New Atlantis. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Reach New Atlantis.
  2. Complete initial tasks.
  3. Head to the MAST building (you'll visit it as part of the main story alongside Sarah Morgan).
  4. Have a conversation with Commander Tuala.
  5. Accept Commander Tuala's invitation to join UC Vanguard.
  6. Take the entrance exam.
  7. Successfully pass the exam, then speak with Commander Tuala once more.
  8. Swear your oath.

Once you've taken the oath, you officially become a member of UC Vanguard. It's worth noting that you can also join UC Vanguard later in the game. However, joining early comes with its perks, including earning credits needed in the early stages and gaining the opportunity to purchase a house in New Atlantis.
