Collect the Seed:

The first step to obtaining the Lazy Shell is to find the Seed and Fertilizer. In order to find the seed you will need to defeat the Megasmilax boss fight in the Bean Valley zone:

After defeating the boss, go to the north of the area and you will find a strange note. Interact with the note and you will receive the Seed.

Collect the Fertilizer:

The second item you need is going to be the Fertilizer and it's a bit more tricky to get. First you will need to travel to Nimbus Land and defeat the main boss there - Valentina. After defeating her, you have to travel to the eastern part of the land until you see this ledge:

There is a secret path here, which you can access by walking diagonally towards the southeast. After a small stroll through the clouds, you will find Beezo. Talk to him and he will provide you with the Fertilizer item.

Go to the Gardener:

If you didn't guess by this point, we are going to need to give these items to a gardener. You should travel to Rose Town and in the north side you will find a new path opened up. Go through this path:

By going through this path you will find a house with a big chimney. Enter this house and you will find Gardener Toad. Speak to him and give him the Seed and Fertilizer items. After a brief cutscene, the plant will grow from the pot and go through the roof of the building:

Climb the Plant:

Go outside of the house and climb the boxes to reach the roof. Once there, you will be able to climb the tall plant and go to the clouds:

Once you are in the clouds, it's fairly simple. You will be presented with two chests, that you will need to hit with your jump button and inside these chests you will find the Lazy Shell (Weapon) and the Lazy Shell (Armor):
